Description:

This is a repeat of a swap I have hosted for the last four years. (wow!) I would love for this to be a HUGE swap, so invite your friends!

the simple swap guidelines:

For this easy, fun times, low pressure, international matchbox swap, we will each have just one partner. You will make your partner one winter or holiday themed matchbox (the small 32-count size, approximately 1.5 x .5 x 2 inches). I make my matchboxes out of cardstock (using my matchbox template), but most swappers decorate real, empty matchboxes.

You also need to fill your matchbox with similarly themed goodies. I like filling my boxes with stickers, ribbon, brads, buttons, beads, and other little embellishments. Anything fun and crafty goes.

You aren't required to send any extras for this swap, but remember to include your name, your swap-bot username, your email address, and the name of the swap in your package.

touchy stuff:

I celebrate Christmas, but I know many others do not. Everyone is welcome to join this swap without regard to religious or holiday affiliation. Diversity makes swapping more fun! Just know that by signing up for this swap, you are agreeing that you don't mind receiving any type of winter holiday things. This is a wide-open swap where all interpretations of winter holiday are welcome. Of course, checking your partners profile for their preferences is always advisable and a nice thing to do!

rating requirements:

This swap is international. Everyone must have over a 4.9 rating to participate with very, very few "no sends." This year I am also only allowing experienced (i.e. rated) swappers -- sorry, new users. Please contact me if you'd like to private swap with me.

I must ban anyone who looks fishy. (A filled out profile is always a plus. Recent drama-filled conflicts with others swappers is a negative.) I also check addresses, so make sure yours is legitimate. It is a harsh world out there and I want to keep my Holiday Fun Matchbox swappers safe!

let's swap:

Let's all have fun and start dreaming about the holidays! I always angel my matchbox swaps, so please let me know after the send deadline if you have not received a matchbox. Once you rate your partner honestly with a 1, I will send a fun angel package right out!

xoxo

ive never done a matchbox swap. Is the box ..the little box that wooden matches come in?

In the sourthern hemisphere it is summer holidays instead of winter so if you get me as a partner this would preferable :) We celebrate Christmas too!

@rmrascal - yes, matchboxes are the little cardboard boxes that matches come in. You can make your own from scratch using card stock paper. Check out the link above to download the matchbox template.

Is the matchbox PDF coming up for others? The blog page loads, but the template won't download for me.

@sleen - I am sorry, we had to make some changes to the blog this weekend which broke the matchbox template PDF link... I'll get it fixed asap.

I have a matchbox template online that anyone is welcome to play with while Rachel's gets fixed. Scroll down on the page to see it, click on it to see a printable size. Use heavy cardstock (110lb) for the best boxes!

This is my first time making a match box. I have always wanted to join but was scared it might not come out right but will give it a go. Have template for it.

Ok! Partners have been assigned. This is an awesome group of swappers. I can't wait to see what you all make for this swap!
