Description:

This is a swap for everyone who is afraid to make a postcard and for everyone who wants to learn to decorate an envelope, menu card, a written poem, a wish to someone, a handmade coupon or to decorate whatever you want. And also for everyone who doesn't meet above requirements. So also for you.

This swap aims to learn you to decorate with a repetitive pattern. It is very easy to do and still looks very sophisticated and nice. Just put some circles, dots, stripes and v-shapes in a repetitive way.

Until a few days ago I never did it myself, I just learned it from this easy tutorial: http://www.art-is-fun.com/how-to-make-a-pattern.html. The patterns shown are not the easiest ones, but it provides an easy guide on how to build up a pattern. With only stripes, dots and circles you can make your own easy-to-do pattern. The card shown above was my first one (I learned from this try that it is easier to divide the edges in equal parts via a ruler).

You can put the border(s) on the card in your own way. Just to give you some ideas: you can put the border at the edge of the card, like the picture above. In the middle you can put a text, picture or sticker. Or you can put a picture in the middle and the border around the picture. See also the 2 other cards I made:

You will have 2 partners. To each of them you will send 1 handmade postcard with a border.

Have fun learning this. Remember this is probably for all of us the first time we decorate via a repetitive pattern. So give a friendly comment and tell what you like about the received card or what the strong side is.

Very intersting and well written swap Irina. I am looking foward to doing this for my first time as well. I bet many group members will want to give this a try as well. Im glad you asked partners to rate well and give a complimentry opinion of the best qualities of the card. Nancy

The last day to signup/drop is set to January 5, because people are too busy during the Christmas period.
