Groundhog Day Cards

U. S. only, please, due to short swap time.

I did this last year and it was fun! But we need to hurry, since there are not very many days before the deadline.

For this swap you will have two partners. You are to send a greeting card or postcard commemorating Groundhog Day to each one. The card may be handmade or store-bought, humorous or serious, in an envelope or not (if it's a postcard), but it should reflect the GROUNDHOG tradition (as opposed to Imbolc, Candlemas, or other traditions on or around Feb. 2nd).

If you choose to and are able to, it is permissable to include something additional that is related to the occasion, but sending a card is all that is required or expected.

Partners will be assinged early on Monday, January 28. Cards should be mailed that day or the next (Tuesday, January 29th) to ensure their arrival before Groundhog Day on Saturday, Feb. 2nd.

Newbies allowed. Potential flakers of any type, please abstain.

"In traditional weather lore, if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If the groundhog sees its shadow because the weather is bright and clear, it will be frightened and run back into its hole, and the winter will continue for six more weeks."
