Description:

For this swap, you will use either a glass or plastic jar no smaller than a regular peanut butter jar and no larger than a miricle whip jar. Please decorate your journal prompt jar so it is something pretty your partner would like to show off on their desk at home. With this said, your jar will have to be mailed in a box. To fill it, don't just limit yourself to scraps of paper with prompts on them(of course, you can use as many as you'd like) but, be creative and put small items in your jars-small figurines,a seashell, pictures or anything else that would inspire a story or poem. You don't need to buy items(but you may), just look around the house and see what fits in a jar that you no longer have use for and could make for a good story or poem. You will have 1 partner for this swap-have fun with it!

This is my first time hosting a swap so please feel free to ask questions or mention anything I may have missed.

I love this idea! I am getting ready to host a box of joy in my group similar to this.

Hi jandmterry- If it's not too much trouble, would you let me know when it's up? I'd love to join in!

I love this swap idea, but a 3.00 rating requirement is really low. You might want to change that. :)

dreamweaver 04/10/2012 #

Thank you Lishmo! I changed it to a 4. You must have hosted before and I appreciate the input!

Just wondering, would the biggest glass jar of Smucker's Blackberry Jam work? Don't want to screw anyone over, but it's the prettiest jar I have (and just emptied! ;) ) at the moment.

dreamweaver 04/16/2012 #

Yes, the jam jar sounds just fine. Most are about the size of peanut butter jars.

Tpartymom 04/18/2012 #

How many prompts should be in the jar?

dreamweaver 04/20/2012 #

As many as you can get in there. Slips of paper don't take up much room and if you're going to put objects such as a shell, figure etc. you don't have to go nuts with these prompts. Just a few lightweight things that can spark inspiration. A nice journal jar doesn't have to be heavy & expensive to mail-good prompts and ideas and a nicely decorated jar are the key.

Sorry for the delay in having partners sent. I don't have internet at home and forgot to do it when I was at my sister's. Enjoy the swap!
