Description:

I LOVE garden gnomes! And there are many in stores right now as people gear up for planning their gardens - be they flower or vegetable.

I figure there are other gnome lovers here so let's swap.... my favorite is the Travelocity gnome. I just love his little face!

Swap particulars: 1 partner - 2 items.

$10 limit, before postage -- if you prefer, one item may be handmade but please be fair and get something nice, not a statue from the Dollar Tree. Some ideas for handmade items are matchboxes, ATC's, notecards, I even saw a really neat crocheted gnome on someones Flickr photos (wish I could remember who that was cuz she did an excellent job!)

US only due to postage costs - although the gnomes are small they can be pretty heavy! *If someone international is interested in this swap, please PM me I might be interested in a one-on-one swap with you.

Sorry, but I must limit this to those with a 4.8 or above rating. I have been flaked on MANY times recently, twice in a higher dollar swap and it does not feel good. If you are a newbie and wish to participate I am setting the sign up and send by dates in March. Since the swap will not be profile specific you can shop now and still have time to build your ratings!

Happy Swapping everyone - I hope you enjoy this idea for a swap. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Hi. i love the sound of this swap. i am in Scotland however and also only done a few swaps. If you do a one to one do you still rate your partner as I need to get my number of swaps up. If not I'll pass for now. Let me know :)

Thats funny you mention the Travelocity Gnome. I have a roaming gnome project going on right now with my friends on Twitter. Travelocity found the blog I wrote about it and sent me a one of their gnomes to use as our official roaming gnome. Check it out if you want... http://roaming-gnome.pbwiki.com/

We named him Gnomad.

Oh fleasha that is SO COOL!! What kind of material is Gnomad made of? I have a gnome a friend bought me and I was doing that same type of thing - but he's much bigger and it was a bit conspicuous dragging him around with me (he's about the size of a lap dog). I had taken several pictures but my computer crashed and I lost them all :0( That happened before I could get my website set up - so now I guess I just have to start all over! Some of those places I'll never go again (like Nebraska) but we'll see what adventures we can come up with :0)

on the $10 limit, is that the bottom end or the top end?

@hoosiergirl Gnomad is 8 inches tall and made of resin. He's not too heavy. He is traveling by USPS to his travel guides. They will then take him wherever they go. Most are taking him around their town or city. I put him in a flat rate box. So all of the travel guides have to commit to spending at least that much to move him along.

I have always wanted to travel with a gnome and do the picture thing, but I haven't traveled in quite some time - I used to always take road trips but nothing these days. So this was the next best thing.

lampshade - the $10 is a minimum - I have personally already gone above that but I have a shopping addiction :0| I often think I need to find a 12 step program for this, LOL
