Can you give some examples of other craft dolls? I've never made one except the dotees. I'm on number 4. Are icicle dolls different enough? What about paper dolls?

I think not paper dolls for this swap, but you can definitely use techniques other than sewing... knitting, wood beads for faces... anything really. Just think of what looks like a cute, lovable, lovely doll to you and make it!

LOL i could use the massage as well! Send me one too! I am in the middle of trying to get into debt up to my eyeballs. Buying furniture and such for our new house. So i am scared to sign up at this point. Do host again and i will give it a shot! New house will have sewing area so i can finally learn to sew! Or attempt to! :-)

I would so love to join this swap and expand my repertoire, but I have sooooooooooo many swaps due in March, especially the first two weeks of March, that I just don't have time to challenge myself to doing something new! But I'll definitely watch for this to some around again later!!! I think I blew soda out of my nose from laughing so hard at #5 of your description!

What is an icicle doll? They don't sound very soft. I love (and make) knitty, stitchy dolls. Esma, (the doll) is almost done, I just need to make her a little suitcase, in case it's a long trip in the mail.

An icicle doll is... hmmm, in my opinion a dotee in icicle shape! It's pointy... and has a face... err, umm, search for icicle doll on flickr and you'll see :)

The dolls I were planning on making aren't soft either...They can be any kind of handmade dolls beside the dotee type, right?

OK, confession... I'm a total dork. I just finished my dolly to send out, and my son went and grabbed the one I received because he said they go together, and i spent a minute all by myself having a dolly conversation. My doll to be sent wanted to go to the mall, but my received dolly (who is older and wiser) had to do her homework. Yup, I'm officially goofy!
