Description:

Maximum cards, or maxicards, are postcards with a coordinated postage stamp placed on the front of the card (on the design/photo part), and they're collected by fans of both postage stamps and postcards.

Send your partner 1 postcard, naked (no envelope), and place a coordinated postage stamp on the front of it. The stamp doesn't have to match perfectly, but it should be close in theme or design.

The postcard can be store-bought or homemade, but try to send something you think your partner will like and that you'd like to receive.

If the stamp on the front doesn't cover postage, make sure to add the rest on the back.

Note: Normally, maxicards have a coordinating postmark on the stamp, but you don't have to do that for this swap. Think of this as a more relaxed maxicard, and an easy way to start making your own.

So, this means a possible two stamps, one on front, one on back? Does the postoffice accept just the one on front? Never heard of that but interesting.

Depending on what you put on the front, yes, it might be more than one stamp in all.

To be honest, I haven't sent one of these before, so this is a bit of an experiment. Typically, the USPS will mail pretty much anything if it has the postage, and they used to sell these cards as part of new stamp releases.

It may help to take this to the counter, if you can, to make sure it goes through ok. You might also want to try a non-glossy card, just in case the postmark ink doesn't stick.
