Description:

For this swap, please make or decorate a matchbox with a sewing theme. For the inside, please make a mini pincushion! If you don't sew, the pin cushion can be glued in but if you sew, a removable one would be preferable. Don't have any fabric but would like to join? Let me know by the sign up deadline and I'll send out several beautiful scraps (I even have silk!) and even throw in some stuffing! You will get it well before the deadline and if not, I'll extend the dates. Anything to help make it easy for you to sign up!

Hand or machine sewing is fine as long as it is neat. Since this is so small, NEAT raw edges showing is acceptable as this will be hard to turn. If your seams aren't neat, cover with ribbon or trim or pink neatly. Satin stitching is another good option (tight zigzag stitches like on an appliqué). Please use proper stuffing; fabric scraps, wool roving or scraps, fiberfill or felt bits are fine and due to the tiny size, I'll allow cotton balls. No food like rice or other grains and no toilet paper or tissues.

To make a pin cushion to glue in, cut a piece of fabric 2 3/4x2 1/4". Cut a piece of stiff paper (thin box board) to just a teensy bit smaller than the bottom of your drawer. Place the fabric wrong side up on your table. Add stuffing. Place your stiff paper on top and pull the fabric up around the paper neatly, glueing it in place. Then glue this into your matchbox.

If you wish to decorate the pin cushion, go for it! If it means the drawer will not slide inside the sleeve, that's ok as long as it looks good displayed open as the pin cushion can't be used while inside anyway. This is more to display than use but it won't look good unless a couple of pins can be inserted for display at a minimum. The more useable the better so your partner has the option to use it but as long as it looks pretty and holds a few pins upright, it's good!

*If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly; missed areas, smudges or double lines are not acceptable.

*Please check your partner's profile and avoid dislikes both in colour and theme. You may make this profile based if you wish.

*Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink!) And no magazine cut outs.

*Please make a beautiful MB you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive.

*The MB must include a total of at least 3 layers and/or embellishments. You must use all quality craft supplies. No cheap junk.

*Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight. Colouring needs to look adult, not like a child did it. Please don't be discouraged by these rules. I am only referring to general tidy work, not tiny flaws. Sewing should be neat.

*Please have a 4.97+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out but there shouldn't be any on a group like this! If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve been flaked on so many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

What size matchbox, the 32 count or the larger one? Thanks
