Description:

I know it's a little nerdy, but I don't care - I think a smart is HOT! In this ATC bi-monthly series you will depict a portrait of an inventor (if none is available their invention), who by their science, has made a huge difference to humankind. Some examples are: Einstein, Galileo, Archimedes, Newton, Whitney, Edison, Curie...you will make 2 ATCs for 1 partner. I also ask you to put in the comments below which scientists you already have so there are no repeaters. Each card must be 2 1/2 X 3 1/2". You may embellish, but you can't ONLY put stickers, there has to be more to it. Each card has to be a card you would be pleased to receive.

You must have at least a 4.80 to take part with no no/partial sends in the past 9 months. No newbies, but this is international, so please do not sign up if you cannot send outside your own country. Let's get our "genius" on!

As a science teacher, I SO want to do this swap, but I have never made an ATC before. I have this great rubber stamp of Einstein that I bet I could use! I use it to stamp my students' papers. Can it be business card size? That's 2 x 3.5.

bbsporty 03/ 2/2008 #

An ATC is 2.5 x 3.5

Okay, I"m doing Gauss and rotegen. I'm not sure on the spelling of the second, he discovered x-rays.

I'm excited. ^^

moxsapphir 03/16/2008 #

Sure, you can use it Miss U. Are you signed up for the first swap as well. The deadline is not quite here for that one yet, so there's still time. I did Edwin Hubble & Jonas Salk (for the first ATC Scientist Swap), I am not sure who I'll do for this one yet.

moxsapphir 03/16/2008 #

Please look up the first scientist swap (if interested) by clicking on my name & seeing which swaps I am hosting.

arrozc0nleche 03/25/2008 #

I'm going to do Stephanie Kwolek and Rosalind Franklin.

teamwang 03/31/2008 #

sorry but i'm gonna drop. the past 3 ATC swaps i've been involved in have been flakers. they had to ruin it for me :(

moxsapphir 04/ 2/2008 #

Well as far as mine are concerned, you're supposed to let me know, teamwang. I have high numbers on my swaps 4.8 and above to avoid flakes. I have had one flake on a swap (and that person was a newbie) so I rarely include newbies anymore.

biomaverick 04/30/2008 #

I'm going to do Emil Adolf von Behring and Karl Landsteiner. :-)

Last time was a lot of fun & I got some great cards!

moxsapphir 05/13/2008 #

Thanks biomaverick for letting me know my card was on its way! I made Baade & Tesla this time :D

Does the scientist have to be an invstor as well? I've been working on an ATC about Maria Mitchell, america's first woman astronomer, but she did not invent anything. Maybe I'll play it safe and do Benjamin Franklin instead!
