since I'm new I'm asking for help...1) does the atc need to be in the rectanglar shape? for example could it be oval, star, car? 2) what do I use for the base?

yes, it has to be a 2.5 x 3.5 RECTANGLE ATC. Use some sort of coordination paper as your background. but make sure you reinforce it with some sort of card-stock or like old cereal box. like i use that and just cut the 2.5x3.5 rectangle out to fit as the support backing,.
