Location:Regional - United States
Type:Type 2: Flat mail
Last day to signup/drop:October 16, 2012

Number of swap partners:2
Description:

Nothing from your craft or scrapbook stores allowed...

Include items from ephemeral sources (e.g. things that might usually be thrown away) such as magazine/book clippings, pamphlets, cards, but don't limit yourself to paper, think outside the cardboard box and look for interesting textures and patterns in other materials as well such as plastic, foil, or fabric. (ETA: Clean items only please...food wrappers are allowed, but must be food-free.)

For 2 partners, fill a business-sized envelope (at least 20 pieces each), but try to keep it under an ounce so that it won't require more than one stamp.

This swap has a fast turn-around so start collecting items for those envelopes now. If you receive some stuff you don't like, too bad, recycle it or pass it along to someone else. 8D

If any problems arise, please contact your partner and swap host (Cirsium) ASAP.

Any thoughts on an International version (think of all the different types of stuff on offer!!) ?

If not, anyone fancy doing a private swap for an envie from an interested Scottish Lassie?

Wingy 10/13/2012 #

craftylass...i Pm'd you... i would love to do a private swap with you regarding this type of swap....

Cirsium 10/13/2012 #

Can papers that are used, but not used up that are from the craft stores, like scrapbook papers be sent?

fawnscrafts 10/13/2012 #

And can one send a closure thingy? Something that will help keep the journal closed.

Cirsium 10/13/2012 #

closures, fasteners, or trims are welcome, but they generally aren't flat... if you don't mind spending a little extra on postage, go ahead, but the expectation is to keep the postage cost low (45-65 cents).

please keep used/recycled scrapbook papers/items to a minimum... the idea is to send and receive some unique and unexpected items.

Great questions! Thanks for asking for clarification =)

Well I just went through some journal goodies and put several in an envelope for a swap just like this.... now where did I put that envelope?

thequilterslink 10/16/2012 #

Oh this sounds like a great swap, unfortunately, i am at my limit.. Hurry and do a second version :)

cspt 10/16/2012 #

I agree with thequilterslink, I cannot participate now but would LOVE to in the future...

Cirsium 10/16/2012 #

Thanks for the feedback.. I'm thinking about doing some more like this soon (maybe with some general themes too.) Have fun =)

BethinaBel 10/16/2012 #

Sounds like fun but I am too late! Let me know if you do this again, please!

I would join another one in a heartbeat also. Now to find that envelope and divide all the goodies I have there and in a package I started today.

I'm so pleased when I look at the "View Participants" list and see every single person has sent (and all close enough to on time). WAY TO GO! AWESOME!
