Description:

Holiday time is always party time. Let's spread some holiday cheer around with a Fabric Postcard Swap. You will have 2 partners to send to but you can make all 4 postcards the same since they will be to 2 different people. Send a Fall/Thanksgiving/Winter/Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza....whatever you'd like that is a Fall/Winter theme.

I'm changing the number of partners to 2 rather than 4. I don't want to scare anyone away and there are lots of swaps going on. I hope this helps people that wanted to join but were concerned about the number of cards to make.
This is a stitching swap. Do not send a postcard that only has things simply glued to it.
You can find a fabric postcard tutorial that will give you so many ideas at http://needledmom.blogspot.com/2008/04/fabric-postcard-tutorial.html

You'll have plenty of time to work on these. Hint: You can make one big one and slice it into four 4"x6" cards and then complete with a backing. 4"x6" is the maximum allowed.

Fabric postcards should be mailed NAKED, not in an envelope, and hand-canceled if there is anything like a bead or fringe, etc. on them. Postal clerks will do this willingly; be sure to ask for it. Cost to mail the fabric postcard is the same as one first-class stamp (45 cents US). Some post offices may charge you a tiny bit extra to hand-cancel but they really shouldn't. None have ever charged me extra.

I'm doing this International because it doesn't cost anymore than a regular postcard $1.05 (US) to send international. They arrive safe and sound...I've known of 4 sent to Ireland from Alabama and they were perfect and went quickly.

2 partners, 1 fabric postcard to each partner. Stitching required on the card. Lots of tutorials on the Web. Search: fabric postcard tutorials if you don't like the one above. PM me if you have questions. I've made many and can help you out.
No flakers need apply!

I really want to join this swap but my machine is sick and visiting the sewing machine Dr. I hope it comes back in time but, if not, I'll catch you on the next round! Good luck!

Thanks, Bandkh1. Good luck with the sewing machine. I'm always sad when mine is away at the "clinic". If it's popular enough, I'll definitely do another round.

Anyone want to tell me what's holding you back from joining this swap? They are wicked easy to make and the "world is your oyster" as far as what you do on it---beads, fancy stitches, patchwork, embroidery. Whatever you like to put on fabric. Please join; I really want to swap fabric postcards!
