Description:

Being that some of us aren't seasoned card makers I thought I'd start of with a beginners card swap. You don't have to be a beginner to join but please note that your partner may be a beginner and please allow them to practice! Handmade cards are way better than store bought cards!

You can find many tutorials on Google and different blogs on how to make cards. I am only linking you to my Google search where you can then search out links and images on your own.

Google Search for Handmade Tutorials for Beginners

I have found that actually just trying them out on my own has helped me to make them better BUT, please feel free to use the ideas in the link.

Ok! Since we will be working with themes, collages, and rubberstamps, your first card HAS to incorporate the theme of:

  • TIME: think clocks, maybe vintage, clock hands, stopwatches. It MUST have one rubber stamped image on it! However, you can use more than one.

Each card must be a minimum of 3.5x5. Each card should NOT be larger than a 5x7. Each card must have a matching envelope. It can be handmade or a regular envelope. You can decorate the envelope too if you'd like. You can use ANY colored paper, ink, etc.

Each card is to be folded. It should incorporate pictures, stamps, embellishments, ribbons, or anything that fits the theme. Try not to make your card too bulky on top to save on postage BUT if you are into making your cards that way, please feel free to do so because it may be a card that will be given and not mailed.

Think outside a regular card image you have in your head and make something neat.

You will have one partner to send one handmade card to;)
