Zazzle Postcard Swap!

Easy! Just send one postcard (naked, written on, stamped) you have purchased off zazzle to each of your partners. It doesn't have to be something you've made yourself, but zazzle cards of your own art are just fine!

I know there's a lot of hype about zazzle, and so many people "dislike" zazzle and constantly say "no zazzle" but honestly I don't understand why, because the postcards I purchase, or make off zazzle are often far prettier and often better quality than the touristy postcards I pick up at the local truck stop.

Here's some tips to make great postcards on zazzle:

  • When you place your image on the postcard backing, you will see a red dotted line just inside the outside line. This means anything outside of that red line (not the outside line) is unsafe, meaning, if your image is over that red line it's probably going to be cut off. Make sure your entire piece of art AND words you want to be printed are INSIDE the red dotted lines and anything outside the red dotted lines are safe to be cut off.

  • Don't put a photo or artwork that is too small for the item you are making. How do you know? A yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears where it says "Add to Cart". This lets you know that your art will be pixelated and probably not look good at all when printed. Always make sure before you go to publish something, that it fits!

  • Also, don't stretch your art abnormally. Make sure that the same dimensions retain themselves at all times. This can be something that you do on your art program, there's usually a way to check a box so that when you make something larger or smaller, it stays in proportion. In photoshop, you would check the box that says "constrain proportions".

If you follow those guidelines, maybe we can start putting the glamour back into our zazzle cards and people won't be upset about getting them!

4.9 - Newbies welcome. No recent 1's or 3's for everyone else.

***IF you have a zazzle store, feel free to link us to it in the comment section so we can have a little look-see!

***Photo above was taken in Columbia SC of a bridge into downtown. It is available at my zazzle store as a postcard.

Is this strictly Zazzle or do CafePress, RedBubble, etc count, too? :)
