Phoenix Rising: May Day Baskets 2013

This one was so much fun last year. Let's do it again! May Day is May 1. In my early childhood in the northern US, we would make little baskets for our friends and fill them with flowers and treats. We would leave them at each others' doorsteps and try to escape without being caught. I love the tradition and wish it was popular where I live now! Let's share in the spirit of this day of friendship with a May Day Basket swap.

We will:

• create a basket for our partners. This may be made of whichever materials you are most comfortable with (paper, fabric, metal to embellish yourself, etc.)

• create a flower or something with a flower on it. This is up to your creative interpretation.

• include a sweet treat (candies, chocolates, cookies, little cakes, etc.).

• include a note--at least a few sentences beyond your name & swap name to personalize the swap a bit.

The mailing date allows 3 weeks to craft something special and 2 1/2 weeks for the swaps to arrive by May Day. Hopefully most of them will make it to our overseas friends on time.

As always, we will send out nicely-made, well-packaged, on-time swaps to share the love with our Phoenix Rising friends.
