This is an international, global swap, open to all you desire Peace. Newbies welcome. You have 3 swap partners to send a postcard to. Swappers with no-sends may be banned. Postcards must be mailed by May 13th.

Your Peace Postcard can be purchased or hand-made. Most prefer their postcards to be mailed “naked, that is, no envelope unless there is a good reason for it.

Your postcard can depict Peace Symbols, Peace Doves or all manner of hope for peace in our world. Peace & anti-war demonstrations, recent or in the past. Massive demonstrations in the street, or small personal statements. Civil disobedience or going nude to protest war. Famous Peaceniks & their statements. Peace is everyone’s business. Peace is the way.

Any postcard can be made into a Peace Postcard by the statements you add to the card. Think of the person who will get this card and the country they live in. Put down your favorite peace quote, song lyric or bumpersticker statement. Tell them something about how you are affected by war, or why you want to see peace in your lifetime. How will our children be affected by war? Are you already against the next war?

Explore war. What is it good for? Is there such a thing as a “good war? Why do they so often lie to us about the real reasons for going to war & how soon it will end? What does victory mean? Why would Jesus bomb? Who has your country bombed, with your money? Who gets killed, wounded and displaced by war? What is a War on Terror or a War on Drugs all about? What is the logic of endless war? Why do they tell us how many have died on one side or a war, but not on the other side? Is Truth the first casualty of war?

Perhaps you have a family member serving in the military, or are convinced that there are good reasons for a particular war. Is your country at war? Do you see the results in your life, or is that war far away and hidden? What happens to resources for education, or health care when a war is on? Could there be a real Peace Dividend if the war was ended? What should be done with the War Criminals? Your postcard can embody any conflicted feelings or complexities about issues of war & peace.

Be sure to read the profile of the person you are sending each postcard to. Are they in a country at war? Do they have a loved one in the military? Are they a committed Peace Activist? Naturally, if your postcard or comments include a response to their situation, that may be greatly appreciated. Spread the word to people you know who care about this important issue.

There's an ad that I just seen while viewing this... An ad promoting John McCain, LOL! Go figure....

PixelParadox 05/11/2008 #

Yes, I say those ads for McCain too! Isn't that ironic? Just the guy who wants the chance to continue Bush's War Policies into the future. Jeez! Well, I do not thing they just pop up with this swap, just for the ironic effect. Hopefully the widespread desire for Peace will mean the money spent on such ads will be for nought. But we know that we cannot misunderestimate the tendency of Americans to be taken in by tough war talk. (He says "War President" like it's a good thing, eh?) We shall see that the future brings.
