TPD: Cross Stitch Painting Note Card

All skill levels are welcome to try this!

Gather up:

• toothpicks
• inexpensive acrylic paints
• some aida cloth (10, 12 or 14 count is easiest to work on)
• a very simple cross stitch pattern with no outlining or half stitches (these only cover half of a square on the pattern, as opposed to full stitches that are shown as a full "x"), and only a few colours.

Follow the pattern, using a toothpick to add dots of coloured paint (instead of individual stitches) to make your pic. (I have tried this with markers and it doesn't work because the ink bleeds.)

Let it dry and then incorporate it into a note card for your partner to send to someone else. Don't forget a matching sized envelope. Any size that can be mailed with one stamp in your country is fine (no mini cards please).
