Description:

This swap is dedicated to the victims of all terrorist attacks, here in the US and abroad. As a native Oklahoman, I remember exactly where I was and how I heard about the Murrah Building bombing. We were all touched by the visions of the World Trade Center. Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

I stumbled upon a FaceBook page called 26 Acts of Kindness. This page is dedicated to performing one random act of kindness for each of the victims of the Newtown shooting. There is more information on the NBC news website at NBCNews.com/26Acts

For this swap, perform a deliberate RAK- a Random Act of Kindness. Write a card for a Boston runner (at the address listed on the above FaceBook page). Donate a meal to a lonely neighbor. Volunteer at your local animal rescue. Read to a child. The possibilities are endless.

Once you've completed at least one RAK, please send a message to your partners telling them about your experience. What did you do? Who benefitted from this act? How did it make you feel? Will you consider doing this act again in the future? Give enough details in your message that your partner can enjoy and celebrate the experience with you.

Open to everyone, since everyone can choose to be kind. You can start anytime- you have about a month to do some good and a week to write about it.

I am wondering how a RAK is for a family member? Is these OK also?

Like DD, she is sick, (see profile) and we are snowed in, so the acts of kindness I do for her, are they allowed, or would you say those are a given since they are for my DD?

She can do things until she eats and then she gets o sick about all she can do is sit or lay. Usually in pain.

If not I understand.

It doesn't take much to do a RAK for others. And it will be much easier when we are no longer snowed in. The freeways are closed and the snow should be stopped here tonight, but down in Colorado the snow is starting today. And DH says he does not me driving in the snow even if the freeways open

I can go down to the lobby and see if there are any stranded drivers and ... well I would have to share that with my partner. LOL.

I think that a RAK for your DD would be alright, if it's over and above what you would normally do for her. I am sorry to hear that she is ill.

With about a month before the sign-up date, I'm hoping everyone has a chance to get out and share some love. :)

Can I mention a couple of RAOks I did like last month and yesterday?

Any RAK would work, as long as it is something you did since April 1st. It must be something that is somewhat of a sacrifice= something you don't normally do. It must involve giving time, money, effort, talent, possessions, or anyting else that you have to share. In my oppinion, an act of kindness is a deliberate thing that you consiously do to enrich the life experience of another person. It is not something that is routine or common.
