Description:

Who doesn't like a huge envelope full of goodies? I hosted one last month and it was successful. So I thought why not and try it again. This time it's going to be a little different. I am listing items that should be in the package just so we somewhat know what items we are getting. (NOTE: you do not have to pick every single item off the list, it's your choice on how much can fit in the envelope). Stuff the envelope until its jammed packed. The more the merrier. The price that you should spend on this is $10 MINIMUM. You will be using the priority mail letter flat rate envelpe which is the 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" one. If you send if you go to the post office and send it out it's $5.65 or if you go through USPS.com and print your own label it's $5.05 with free tracking (which I normally do).

So you should have a few new items along with what you want to add that you already have. This is NOT soley based on your partners profile, but please check the DISLIKE part and add at least 3 profile surprises. If you are a person who doesn't like flat items such as scrapbooking items, note cards, etc, this swap is not for you. I've had partners in the past and sometimes I question why they signed up for a swap in the first place since everything they don't like is what requires for the swap.

Things that you can include:

  • postcards

  • pens/ sharpies

  • washi tape whole rolls

  • washi tape samples (at least 5 6 inch samples)

  • ribbon or lace

  • scrapbooking paper (4x6, 5x7, 6x6), scraps are okay but only if your partner prefers them

  • adhesive

  • double sided tape

  • ATC

  • letter sets/ stationery

  • stamps (rubber or cling)

  • address labels

  • return address labels

  • hello my name is stickers

  • pinterest made item

  • a friendly letter

  • SMASH IT items. This is popular within the swapbot community. If your partner is a smasher, these items can be found at your local craft stores such as michaels and joanns as well as Walmart & Target.

  • page protectors

  • ephemera

  • stickers (mature stickers or ones that you can use for journaling/ scrapbooking)

  • note pads

  • decorative tape

  • hand made envelopes

  • decorated stamped envelopes

  • project life items: 3x4 or 4x6 cards, stickers, etc

  • $1 bin craft/ stationery finds at target, michaels, or joanns.

  • etsy surprise

  • a few page chip board book

  • note cards, bi folded or single sided

  • shabby chic items

  • cricut or silohuette cut outs

  • vintage items

  • quotes

  • If you want to add something that's not on the list but its in your partners profile, that's fine!

YOU MUST have a 4.99 score with NO recently 1's or 3's within the last year (but message me, depending on the situation we can work something out). YOU MUST have 40 type 3 swaps completed or more. And this is a USA only swap. Please message me with any comments or concerns.

What is a Pinterest made item?

DixieDiane 05/10/2013 #

Is it the cardboard FR envie or can it be the Padded FR envie?

florenceantonette 05/10/2013 #

@dixiediane you can use either or, but the pricing is for the cardboard.

florenceantonette 05/10/2013 #

@swan it's just a choice where you can make your partner an item on pinterest, but you don't have to.

For those who don't know, the price for the padded envelope if you do the label online is $5.70. I don't know how much it is if you do it at the post office. Also, if you use the cardboard envelope, I would tape it really well because those cardboard envelopes the USPS has are flimsy and they will break in transit if not taped well and if they are stuffed. Personally I would rather pay the extra 65 cents and use the padded envelope. To me they look like they would be much sturdier.

Forgot to say that the padded envelope and cardboard envelope I am talking about is for Priority Mail.

florenceantonette 05/10/2013 #

@moonlightlaura thanks for posting that. I always tape the cardboard ones all around, my PO doesn't have the padded envelopes.

DixieDiane 05/11/2013 #

You can order the padded FR envies online. I order a bunch and have them on hand. Just go to USPS and order-they are free and free shipping. I usually get them within a week or so-my mailman delivers them to me. I prefer the padded FR myself-you can pack those babies full and have not had a problem with them popping open. I do tape the open end after I close it-just in case. I've had the cardboard ones pop wide open before. I've also had one come to me empty cause the USPS couldn't shove the inside goodies back in and tape up themselves. So the person sending to me, had to resend which can be costly if you are on a budget-more goodies for inside and more postage to send again.

That is what I do too, @DixieDiane Our post office never has any supplies out, so I order all mine for free with free shipping on the USPS website. It comes directly to your house and you will always have supplies on hand...and you don't have to worry if your post office has the supplies you need or not...It is also easier that way for me.

It's still not clear to me. Do you mean we could make an item for which we saw the pattern or a tutorial or something on Pinterest?
