Description:

I am continuing the swapping of Inchie Bags. Since everyone in the first swap was from the US, I am making this one USA only. Hopefully a few others will now join us in passing these bags.

If you already have an established one to pass along from the other swaps, that's great! If not, here's how to start one:

Take a small envie and write your name and address on one side of it. On the other side, write instructions such as "take out two Inchies and add three". You can choose to have the person take or add as many as you wish.

Have numbered lines for persons who have participated to sign on. You can choose how many lines you want to offer, just make sure your bag is large enough to hold that many Inchies when full.

Indicate that the last person to sign should send it home. You can include any other instructions, such as whether or not the Inchies should be made by the swapper or if you accept pass alongs.

Put your three (or however many you indicated) Inchies inside the envie. I usually start a new bag with a few extras to give the first recipient more from which to choose. This is your Inchie bag.

Put the Inchie bag (envie) inside another envie to mail to your swap partner.

You will receive a bag from your other partner. You will select Inchies to keep, and add additional ones to the bag. Hold onto the bag until another swap opportunity. Then you will send it along its way.

what are inchies

An inchie is a small piece of artwork, one-inch square. It can be drawn, collaged, painted, etc. As long as it is one-inch square, anything goes. Try typing "inchie" into a search engine for lots of ideas and images of ones that other people have made.

If you are new to Inchies, please know that they should be thick and sturdy...not just a single sheet of cover stock. Something thicker like matte board or even all old cereal box should be used to make them sturdy. Also, an inchie is still a piece of art, albeit tiny art. That means you can't just stick one thing on a 1 inch piece of paper and be done. Ink the edges, doodle, stamp, emboss, glitter glue...do something to create a tiny piece of art for your inchie bags.
