Description:

Does 1 picture = 1,000 words? Let's see!

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and to that partner you will send 1 image of your choice plus approximately 1,000 words you wrote which somehow relate to that image.

For your image you can choose a photograph you've taken, a reproduction of a piece of art, a picture from a magazine, an illustration from a book, a postcard you like, etc. Any image at all is fair game, so choose something that interests you.

With your 1,000 words you can describe the image, free-associate about particular details or colors it contains, create a short story based on it, share memories or emotions related to it, research it and write an informative essay, combine any of these approaches, or write anything else at all in any style as long as it is somehow prompted by the image. The goal is to see if 1,000 words really can be generated by a single picture. The words should be your own; if at times you quote others, please signal that with quotation marks and, to give credit where credit's due, cite your source.

I suggest using a word processing program so that you can easily count words. And don't feel that it has to be exactly 1,000 words--let's say that anything between 900 and 1,100 words is fine. If you get stuck you can even write about why you can't write any more!

And just so we're on the same page: the image and your words should be sent by regular post (snail mail) rather than email.

If you write in a language other than English please be sure to include an English translation unless you are 100% certain that your partner can read the language of your original.

You do not need to choose your image based on your partner's profile, so once you sign up, you can start writing!

Other details: 1) Newbies are welcome. 2) Swappers with a rating below 4.90 or a worrisome profile will be dropped before partners are assigned. 3) This is an international swap.
