Decorated Medicine Bottle

A few months ago, I participated in a swap for a decorated/altered medicine bottle and thought it was tons of fun!

For anyone who loves and knows all about memory jars - it's basically the same concept.

For this swap, you will take an empty medicine bottle and decorate it with a vintage theme of your choice (including the lid), fill the bottle with all sorts of fun little bits and pieces, and add a card with a note to your partner.

Suggestions for what to use to decorate the bottle and items to include inside:

• genuine or reproduction vintage photographs, advertising etc
• buttons, rhinestones
• ribbon, bows
• stamped images
• vintage handwritten letters (I would suggest photocopying those to use on the bottle instead of the actual letter)
• seed packets
• vintage postage stamps
• vintage mailing labels (example: old airmail stickers, pharmaceutical labels etc)
• lace
• fabric flowers
• die cuts
• washi tape

You may consider doing something special for your partner like picking a theme from their profile likes/interests, or adding a monogram - but this is not required. The main goal is to transform a boring plastic bottle into something that looks vintage and is filled with little bits and pieces your partner can use in their own arts & crafts projects.

PLEASE make sure to thoroughly clean the medicine bottle first and remove all labels. I would suggest putting it on the top rack in your dishwasher - that's what I do with mine and it works like a charm.
