Description:

I am going to make this a monthly thing if there's enough interest. All groups I've seen seem to have a traveling letter in their forums, so I am not sure who to thank for the original idea - but thanks! This is to help us all get to know each other better

Anyhow when you initially join you write at least a two sided a5 page, with a brief introduction of yourself, but mainly write about something that at that moment in time has you excited. Be it an upcoming celebration, a big project you're working on, an amazing book you're reading, a job change - whatever at that time has you all fired up. Write about why you're so excited, what you expect to happen, what you've got planned for the event. Make sure you include your address on the letter (so it can be returned at the end and so people can see where the letter has been). Include some questions for the next person - like if they've ever been through/done what you're doing, what they're up to currently, whatever makes you curious about them.

Decorate your letter, or use pretty paper - make it unique and stand out as yours. Letters can be typed, but still try and make them unique to you - like graphics or a font or paper you always use. Then send it on to your one partner.

When you get a letter, add at least a 2 sided a5 page. Write your own brief introduction, answer the questions asked of you and add any questions you have for the first person and that you'd like the next person to answer. Again decorate or use pretty paper for your letter, making it uniquely yours. Add a picture if you like, whatever you think suits the theme of that particular bundle of letters.

Send the original letter and yours, onto the next partner in the next month. So each time you get a letter you add at least a page, and then sign up for the next month :) If at any stage you can't continue then please either send the letters you have back to the first person or send them to me and i will get them back to the first person - please don't just discard them.

At the end of 12 months, maybe sooner if they're getting too bulky lol I will call for everyone to send the letters home to the first person who wrote them so they can see whats been added and where the letters been :) You might get the same bundle of letters twice (or more) or you might only see one bundle once, it will be random and up to swap bot :)

(Side note: I know a lot of people like to include extras with swaps - but please don't feel you have to or need to with this series of swaps as these are going to end up bulky anyhow! :))

Anyone can join any month, but remember the longer you wait to join the less bulky your traveled letter will be at the end

Okay call me a dummy, what the heck is an a5 paper?

If you ever decide to do a USA version of this swap, I'd love to participate! International postage is too much and with the bulk, will probably need to fill customs forms, etc.

Oops sorry I missed these - a5 is the size 210 x 148 mm or 8.27 x 5.83 inches.

Sorry I personally cant do US as then I couldn't participate, but you're welcome to run a US version if you like :)
