In this new series we will be making mini art quilts and matching mug rugs for one partner based on the following themes:

To Honor Swap-Bot 10-12-13 thru 11-12-13

To Honor my “swap-partner” (based on something your partner is interested in) 11-13-13 thru 12-13-13

To Honor the “New Year” 12-14-13 thru 1-14-14

In Honor of “Mom and or Dad or Family” 2-15-14 thru 3-15-14

In Honor of the “USA”
4-16-14 thru 5-16-14

Our first set of mini art quilt and matching mug rug will be based on “In Honor of Swap-bot”. This set can be all about your favorite part of swap-bot or your partners’ favorite part of swap-bot. Perhaps you’ll want to make the set showing off your particular quilting skills, or even hand embroidery skills. Maybe you want to make a mini and mug-rug that actually say “swap-bot”. Whatever you decide be creative and do your best work.

This series will be sender’s choice.

--mini art quilt should be at least 6 ½ X 6 ½ or as large as 15X15 inches and it does not have to be square. You may want to make it oval or heart shaped, whatever your imagination comes up with. The mini art quilt should be top, backing, batting and be quilted either by hand or machine.

--mug-rug should be at least big enough to hold a large coffee cup or a bowl of soup and also made with the 3 part quilting sandwich, top, bottom and batting.

I hang my collection of mini-art quilts on my wall in my work cubical and I think it would be great fun to have a matching mug rug to use at the same time. Use your imaginations and have some fun with this series.
