The Legend of the DreamCatcher

Here are a couple great tutorials for making DreamCatchers: (You can use one of these or you can find and use one on your own).

DreamCatcher 1.

DreamCatcher 2

Do NOT use a paper plate for making your DreamCatcher. I know there are a lot of tutorials using paper plates, but they look cheap and flimsy. These are to be made out of metal, wooden or plastic hoops only. NO PAPER

This is (of course) for all skill levels. If you have made dreamcatchers before please understand you may be partnered with a dreamcatcher newbie.

The size of the DreamCatcher will be left up to sender...but the hoop should be at least 4 inches.

This will be sender's choice (Of course you can peek at your partner's profile for color choices, but it is NOT required.) I am giving a long time between sign up and send by.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns please ask!

Don't use real bird feathers...Please see the answer to a question about the bird feathers in the comment area! Thanks

What do you mean by "like real" feathers? I have looked and even the neon colored ones are real feathers (but might be turkey feathers instead of a more exotic bird). Thanks Paige!!

Thanks I should have been more clear. I meant don't go out in your yard and chase down a bird and get its feathers, LOL. Those can have little bugs in them and well (YUCK). I mean buy feathers from the store. : )

I edited the swap slightly to make the part about feathers easier to understand. : )

I went to JoAnn's last night to get feathers and wanted to share that they sell feathers that already have the little hanging loop thing attached! I love this because I was trying to figure out how I was going to attach the feathers to my strings... :)

I found some like you are talking about at Hobby Lobby.

Mine is done and I love it! Might have to make another one just for me sometime in the future - my son thought it was really cool, too. Have the one for the swap in a nice sturdy box to mail - just trying to figure out what to wrap the box in. Maybe some wrapping paper.... I would just tape the box shut but it's a nice Christmas gift box that you could keep and use again - and the tape would mess it up. LOL Yes, maybe a little OCD, ADHD, etc..... :)

I bought a huge bubble envelope tonight so I'm just going to stick the box inside the envelop and get it sent out! :)

I finished mine...and it was fun, although I thought the weaving was going to cause me issues...but it turned out nice. I will mail it out in a few days.
