As the winter sets in, I'm beginning to dream about next years garden. One tradition which I enjoy is trading seeds with friends and relatives; as a result my garden becomes more interesting, diverse and full of personal meaning each year. During my time here on Swap Bot, I've met a few gardeners who I've also swapped seeds with (either flower or vegetable), and it's always been a great experience. For this swap, please send your partner an amount of seed which would be enough to plant a small area in their garden (approximately 12-40 seeds, depending on how confident you are of their germination abilities). You will be sending to two partners in the USA (due to current laws on the import/export of seeds we will have to keep this within our national borders, I apologize in advance to our international Swap Bot friends). I will be checking participants profiles and ratings thoroughly before assigning partners; please note that if you are currently showing as late on any swaps I will request that you follow through on those before participating in this swap. Similarly, if you have a 1 rating and have not made an effort to follow through on the swap owing to your partner (especially if they are still an active member of the site), I will likely ask that you do this before participating in any of my swaps. Please note that I do angel all of my swaps, although I will make every possible effort to ensure that my swaps remain flaker-free. Finally, late sends or flaking on any of my swaps will affect your ability to participate in my swaps in future.

Can we say whether we want flower or vegetable seeds? Mine are flower gardens. I guess I could buy some vegtable seeds. Just wondering before I joined.

Yes, do we send flower seeds, veggie seeds or a combo of both?

In the past, I've left the type of seed sent to the senders discretion, but I think that it would be fair to make requests here in the comments if there is some reason why you might prefer one over the other. This tends to be a fairly small swap (usually somewhere between five and 10 swappers) so your request shouldn't get lost in the shuffle.

Of course, if you would like to arrange private swaps with one another so that you are absolutely guaranteed to receive the type of seed (especially if you have a specific or unusual climate) that you need, I would absolutely encourage this. :)

Thank you for your prompt response. :-) I have mostly flower gardens and would appreciate flower seeds. (zones 4-5 in USA). But I have also sucessfully grown tomatoes and peas as well, so garden seeds are ok too. (zones 4-5 USA)

I am zone 9, and have a winter garden doing fairly well right now. I am up for flowers or vegetables, but if you could keep in mind that anything really heat sensitive will die here (some flowers need a cooler climate). Looking forward to this swap! I have a ton of seeds right now, so if anyone is interested in a private swap, please PM me and I would love to do that as well. I enjoy a diverse garden, especially medicinal plants ( i.e. calendula or lavender) and interesting varieties of veggies. :)
