YGM: Altered Book Page

For this swap, you will create one altered book page for your partner. Take a page from a book (thrift stores have a great selection of books for this purpose) (I search out the ones in a foreign language with interesting text). Choose a book approximately the size of an average paperback that will fit in a 6 x9 envie. You may want to adhere your page to a secure backing such as card stock, heavy scrapbooking paper or even a carefully cut out piece of a cereal box. Then you will paint, doodle, draw, stamp, embellish and deck out your book page in whatever way suits you remembering to leave it obvious that it is a book page. (Some text showing through in places works for this) Take your creation and package it for safe travel to your partner. These book pages are wonderful art journal additions or can even make awesome framed art. There are a lot of fantastic ideas on the Internet if you search for altered book pages.

You may have to slip an extra piece of lightweight cardboard in the envie with your bookpage so that it makes its journey through or less than wonderful mail system safely.
