Description:

I buy magazines - the paper kind. Always at the airport and I even buy back issues on line. I have always enjoyed reading crafty mags and trying to make the stuff I see in them.

How about you? Do you have some sewing, quilting, or mixed media, or general art & craft magazines that are cluttering up your work space and you haven't referred to them in a long while? Here's your chance to swap a magazine that is pretty but doesn't meet your crafty needs.

You will send your partner (USA-only, sorry, postage is a b$%^&) one crafty magazine - please look at their preferences below, and make one craft from that magazine. So if it's a Somerset - you can make some cards or a small art doll. If it's a paper crafty mag, you could make a banner or frame. If it's a sewing or quilting magazine, you could make a mug rug or some stitched greeting cards. These crafts can be made from your stash - postage should be your only expense.

I am excluding knitting and crochet because I can't do either and I couldn't hope to make something for a knitter or hooker.

Make your craft Queen-worthy and something that you would LOVE to receive.

I love this idea...but just for clarification...particiants list a magazine and then you send them that magazine along with a craft featured in it? What if you don't have that magazine? I have some back-issues of Sommerset, but if my partner doesn't list it, then what?

i love this idea. i need to clarify too...i'm reading the guidelines to say that we send a craft mag and look at their likes for crafts and make one of their likes from the magazine....but i'm not sure that's making sense to me either. thanks for hosting.

No, you choose a magazine you already own - and look to make something from that issue or inspired by that issue. It is sender's choice - but of course you can look at your partner's profile.

In the last round, I received a paper crafting mag with some homemade stationary. I sent a Somerset mag - GreenCraft, I think and sent some denim and burlap napkin rings. It should be a newish magazine, with all of the patterns intact. In the case of Somerset Studios, each issue comes with free paper - it's okay if that has been removed.
