After a little while, part 4 on my series for Japan-themed ATCs, thank you all who joined the previous rounds and I hope you'll find your way to this round and welcome new participants as well :D

Round 1 had an overall theme of Japan, round 2 was food, round 3 was geisha so this time the theme is....

origami!

You can interpret that however you want, you can do an actual origami (as in folding it), draw it, paint it, you can make it abstract... as long as you refrain from the so called stickerslapping.

You will make 1 ATC for 1 partner. Since this is senders choice, you can start making your ATC as soon as you like or wait until partners are assigned if you want to specify your art.

Everyone is welcome to join, newbies as well, but no flakers! No unexplained 1s or 3s in the last 2 months (if you have a 1 or a 3, message me before joining to explain) but don't let that discourage you, I'm not going to ban you without a reason!

Any questions can be commented here as I'm always online :D I hope lots of you join and let's make some awesome ATCs people!

Standard ATC rules apply!

Seeing as I just got back from Japan this is the perfect swap for me! I learned oregami when i was over there :) Im new to this site and very excited to start swapping! :) ...Just a general ATC-question.. does an atc always have to be 3D with layers on layers of different materials and things... or can it also be a small oil/water/acryllic/ -painting or drawing, scetch, charcoal, or photoprint etc..?

what i mean to ask is: say if theres an ATC-swap that has the theme "flower" for example... can u use whatever materials and do either a 3D one OR a drawing/painting if you wish...?

cheers! (sorry im a newbie who cant wait to get started!) :)

@ineemeanie As far as I understand, the only definite rules about ATC are the size- 2.5" x 3.5" (64mm x 89mm), has to have a sturdy backing, and you have to put your name (real and/ or Swap- Bot username,) date (most people just just the month and year), and title (if any.) I have seen people writing down the e-mail address, swap-title, where it was made, and so on, but those usually are optional. Sticker slapping (just putting a few stickers on a piece of cardboard) is frowned upon.

The rest is up to you, completely!!! Well- this one requires an origami, so not THAT "completely", but anyhow... Hand-drawn/ painted, zen-tangle, collage, sewed, using punch art, and so on. Many people use various materials as well- a piece of fabric, little charm from a broken jewelry, washi tape, piece of cork, piece of metal, whatever. I personally LOVE origami to begin with, and use a lot of origami- motifs on my ATCs.

Hope it helps. Have fun!!!!!
