Description:

I love maps, do you?

This is an ATC swap whose requirement and challenge is that you use a piece of a map or an image of a map on your ATC. You may use an actual piece of a map or you could also use a rubber stamped image of a map or, if you make digital art, you may use a map image in your digital art.

This is not necessarily a travel themed swap. Just use a map image in the ATC in any way you want, and it will fulfill this challenge. You can use any theme or style so long as a map is someplace in your ATC.

Artist Trading Cards must be 3.5 x 2.5 inches in size. The ATCs will be originals, no photocopies allowed. Digital art is allowed so long as the final product has a high resolution printout and the image looks good (not a bunch of pixels clearly visible).

You will make 3 ATCs for 2 partners, send each partner 3 ATCs, for a total of 6 ATCs for this swap.

Swappers must have a rating of 4.5 to take part although newbies are welcome.

I have had way too many "no sends" lately so I am updating the minimum rating to 4.5. Anyone with a a no send to any of the swaps I host will be banned as well. It is not fair to not send your swaps as per the rules.

The "send by" date is the date the swap must be postmarked not the date it must be received by.

Per the Swap-bot guidelines, those who follow the swap rules should be given a rating of 5, those who send but don't follow the rules should get a 3 (I take that as late by the postmark) and those who send nothing should be rated a 1.

This is an international swap.

Thanks for playing!

I joined Swap-bot in October and am surprised at the number of 'no sends'. I have been on the losing end of the stick for that and it doesn't feel good and it is not in the spirit of swapping to do that to another person.

Anyone who does a 'no send' on any of my hosted swaps will be banned from all other swaps that I host now or in the future.

I don't know what else to do to try to encourage people to follow through on their committments.

Remember that you can drop out of a swap at any time before the signup date occurs if you get busy, life gets in the way or whatever.

Lastly another way to organize your swaps is to read the swaps first, get ideas, make the ATCs, then after they are done, to offically sign up, then they are done way ahead of time and you can sit back and relax knowing your committment is fulfilled.

Sorry to talk about bad news today.

I hope everyone has fun making these ATCs. ENJOY!

Just a note on "no sends." Check the profile of the person who gives the 1 rating. I have a 1 from a notorious "no send" because I refuse to send to people who cheat. I also have a "no send" from someone who did get the item (I have tracking ID) but for some reason decided to be mean. I've tried contacting her through email and snail mail, but never heard back.

If you read the comments on the many 5s I have, you see I am an excellent swapper. It is too bad Swap-Bot does not have a way to dispute the 1 ratings.

Well that is interesting. Can you tell me since I have not experienced this, how a person cheats on Swap-bot? You can email me privately if you don't want to discuss it here. I am really curious (and confused about the idea of it).

I haven't gotten addresses for my swap partners. Did anyone else not get the update?

ChristineMM 01/21/2007 #

Everyone should be able to view their partners now. Thanks for playing in this swap. I hope everyone enjoys the process of creating your ATCs.

There are no participants with ratings at 4.5 or lower. Newbies were welcome.

Thanks!
