Traveling Journal Swap round 2

Will new partners be assigned soon? I'm leaving town Sunday and won't be able to send mine along until after I get back.

I have hit the Signup link and confirmed it TWICE but it still isn't showing up on my dashboard list (which, btw, I don't think is as simple and easy to use as the "list" was before that "update.") ANYHOW, I just got my partner's journal and rated her (today, 7/12). I likely would NOT have found out about round 2 if I hadn't gotten nosey and looked at jnaos' profile. I WANT TO GO WITH ROUND 2. I'll check for it again on MONDAY, but please don't leave me hangin' in the wind, here, ok?

Partners will now be assigned the 18th... I had a split vote on hitting the assign partners button or just sending out a mailing list. One swap person brought up--- how will we rate our partners if I assign them.. so good point.. any more thoughts on it?

I am sorry thesend date is on a Sunday-- I'm sure you guys have figured out that I don't expect a Sunday shipment. During these swaps the send date is a guideline for international shipping... since some of you know that it has taken a while to get journals back and forth. Please keep in contact with your partner and let them know when you have sent or simply hit the little button when you do.

Sorry I took a couple days off the internet- sometimes I think it is imporatant to walk away for the computer and just say, no.. lol.. I also had my son's bday and then a pig roast this weekend... so apologies..

1st I sent to mspeegle. Now I'm supposed to send to shelleym? But, but, but...she sent to ME in the 1st round. That puts her own journal going right back to her. Is that correct? Confused old lady here.

We have found that by hitting the button swap bot has assigned the same partners in many instances. I think for this round we will have to "deal with it" and round three I should assign partners. I was going to assign partners this round but the majority said they liked the randomness that hitting the button would get-- well, I guess we found out that's not so random.

There is a suggestion for round three that I assign partners and then put those partners in a personal mini swap-- that way we can rate one another (still) and the journal actually travels. I'd like to hear your thoughts so this can actually work like it should.

Update:

I charted partners out from round 1 and round 2-- my group all got the same send to and fro partners and then one other person on swap bot got the same send too partner.. with only 16 people in the group that is bound to happen... so for round three I can hit the button and see how it turns out.. tell you to live with it ;-) or we can hit the button-- and I can assign partners manually.. VOTE HERE!

BTW, I had a different send to partner who agreed to get a different partner... we could do it that way as well!

My 2 cents worth here... I would rather that our hostess assign partners for the balance of the rounds. It is more important to me to have different people write in my journal. *I feel we could leave comments on the profile pages of everyone instead of hearts and 5s. - If we have "Swap-Bot computer generated" partners, I could get the same person write in my journal 3 times or get my own journal at some point. We can do other swaps for the 5s and hearts. But for this journal I'd like to see as many people write in it as possible. Just my opinion. Thanks

A REQUEST ! I'd love to have whomever has or gets my journal, to just drop me a quick note, so I can keep track of who has it. If you want to post a photo of a page that would be really fun, too !! * I posted a page from GirlFloyd's journal on my flickr site... she can take a sneak peek if she wants to or not. My nephew was in a Car VS Motorcycle accident (he was on his bike) and was sent on aeromed--- which is never good.. I am waiting to hear how he is but if I don't answer your emails for a couple of days that is why--- I will get my journal sent out no later then friday to my new swap partner in England.. thanks for your patience and no matter what you believe in please send warm thoughts his way.

I'm with Fingersinc about assigning partners. I'd rather my journal get sent around to different people than have the rating. Leaving comments on my profile works fine for me!

I agree with FingersInc and carol. I'd rather have different people write in my journal each round. jnaos - if you need help keeping track of journals and partners, let me know - I make lists and spreadsheets all the time.

Thanks- Amy Marie.. I will work on this tomorrow for round three. I will put everyone in swap groups. The sign up date and the assign partner date will be pretty close together and then the send out date the 20th. I will also start a board for this. I am going to go see Mama Mia on Thursday (on tour) so I will be setting things up on Friday- more then likely.
