Bento Box Swap!

Hi, I'm really excited about this swap. I already ran out to my local Japanese store today and got a bento box with goodies for my partner. :)

Quick question, I found a great online store that has some awesome bentos can i ship directly from them to my partner, is that ok... Jenni

I am unsure of what a bento box really is, Are they simply food containers? Like Chinese takeout boxes? You would be swaping food items instead of what a person's profile items are? More Asian themed?

Jaznraysmom: I would say shipping a bento box (with items) would be fine, but you will need to double check with your partner, please, just to be sure it's ok with them,

Needlewings: You can always to a google search for bento boxes to see what they are, but yes, the are essentially a "lunch" box. A typical bento box would have internal dividers, and sometimes several stacked layers, so different kinds of food sit in their own little compartments. The whole thing is usually wrapped together with chopsticks in a cloth to serve as a placemat or napkin.

I would not consider a Chinese take out box to be a bento box, because it's not layered or divided.

I just looked on EBAY and there are TONS of BENTO BOXES on there from about 7.00 to 35.00+ there are some very lovely ones...I would like to join BUT Iwould not know if I could make the deadline with buying on the bay and then waiting for them to ship to me to ship to partner....OH I would love to however!

I would love to join, I have so wanted a bento box but was wondering if you will do another of these swaps as the sand by date is alittle soon for me.

There is one store that has about 4 bentos. It is the asian super market I shop at.

jealous our asian market is tiny i order most of my stuff online :P

This was fun. I hope we have another bento swap soon. Hopefully more lead time from when I get my partner to the deadline so I can have time to get things I really want to send shipped from Japan!
