ALL SNOWED IN!

Great fun Kara, however, I am beginning to wonder if I will ever see snow again in my lifetime--here in Northern Ohio we have only had the slightest dusitng--and then maybe only a handful of times. I hope the polar bears are doing okay..

Haha - I hear you!!I live in NJ and the temps this weekend were as high as 74 on Saturday! I was in a tanktop!!! As I was creating this swap, I laughed about it -bc its somewhat cruel.....snow....what is that? Im beginning to forget...

I will send you some snow from North Dakota:) We had a foot and half last weekend! We are supposed to get more this weekend!

after the swap date passes (Feb 9th) you will be able to log on and view your partner....you will get their address - make the package and ship! (by the 23rd!)

Sounds like fun even if we don't snow here between Houston and Galveson Tx. Still enjoy staying indoors when it rains with the fire going.

My most favorite things are snowflakes and snowmen so of course I had to sign up for this swap.

I love snowflakes and snowmen too! I am not very capable when it comes to making music CD's, but if my partner has a certain one that they want, I am more than happy to purchase it!

How come I don't have my partners? Why does it say 'Not Sent' in yellow highlighter? Did the swap go bad?

Gary~ From what I've read on other swaps the swap coordinator has to now select a "assign partners" type button before we can see who our partner is. The "Not sent" in yellow highlighter is your sent status. When you've mailed out your goodies you can click the "I've sent my items" type button in the yellow box...but that will show up after we get our partners.. I hope that all made sense haha! Hopefuly we'll get our partners soon! I'm so excited about this swap!

if the swap host doens't push the assign button soon, in three days it will auto assign partners. It is an extra feature swap-bot added so the host has a chance to look over the list and make bans (you can read about it on the blog). I know some people (bad swappers) would sign up in the last hour or so and make it hard to ban them and they would get stuff for free....

As I reached my driveway, I peeked over to the kitchen window, my teenage son was smiling with the package in his hands. I told my children that one should be arriving and "waala". Once inside, he had a sharp knife already in hand, was begging me to open it and we did together. (we don't get much fun mail) My youngest son caught on as to what we were doing and joined in. We opened the box filled with "all" kinds of wonderful things which warmed my heart. I've started to read my new book which I dearly love. I brought it to work to read on my break and I have had co-workers peeking over my shoulder to read some too. :o) Thanks so much for being so very kind and thoughtful. I love my snowman ornament too!! My kids are enjoying the cocoa and awaiting the "big" storm coming our way over the weekend.

so glad to hear the package arrived safe and sound! I was hoping you would like the book, i have the local used book store save the good ones for me just so i have them to share ilike it that much!!! I have started making my copy into a gently altered book, by that i mean i have been altering it but not so that it can't still be read and used.

Gary- Some people are putting alot of effort into their packages, or do many swaps all overlapping during that time period. I don't think you have any right to complain until after the deadline. The deadline is there to tell us when we need to send the packages by. If you have a term paper do you expect everyone in the class to turn it in a week early? Besides, who gave you the right to police the swap or judge other people based on when they send out their package. Kara is the adminestrator of this swap, and she's the only one who gets to deal with other people's mailings.

Runner you had to put your opinon up twice we all have a right to our opinions and I voiced mine. I have the right to voice my opinion and now I could careless if I recived a package.

I hate to break all of this up, but I just got an email from the partner I am mailing to and it is a bit sad. One of our friends on here is not doing well at all and seems her daughter has taken over some of the responsibilities of her mothers swaps. I don't believe it is my place to say anything on this matter because what has happened to their family is very tragic and sad as well as personal. All I will say is that this was very unexpected and I understand why this person cannot fill her "duty" on here.

I will be sending something to her as I promised to do, but it may be different from the swap guild lines and more of things that will lighten spirits through this difficult time. With that said, I also don't think that they will be able to send to the partner assigned to them and I am willing to take her partner to make up for the items not sent.

I would like to believe that this is more of a place to enjoy one another and make friends and when something like this happens it is a true test of that.

I will be mailing something out to them this week and if you would like more information on the matter or would like to send something (even if it is just a card) then get ahold of me and I will give you that info.

I'm glad you broke this all up because you brought up two important facts here: being friends (that is why I signed up for the most part) and the fact that we're all human and things (even sad like fairy's partner) can be going through.

I would like to reach out fairy and say to your partner and the partners family "I hope and pray that she/he is in better health soon"

Fairy - I think your reaction to this is one of the kindest and best examples there could be about what is best about human nature. This is what swaps are all about - creating bonds between real people. I am proud to be part of something like this where people are treated the way they should be treated.

I'm off to the post office! I am so excited to see what my partner thinks of the package - I haven't told her who I am - do most of you tell or do you keep it a secret?

i gave my husband my package to mail yesterday and he forgot about it in the midst of running a million other errands. i'll be dropping it off at the post office tomorrow! sorry!

Shanalee~ Just got your package and WOW!! You went way above and beyond. I love the stationery and wristwarmers. I'm sure the tea will be put to great use while reading the book and listening to the cd. Everything was fantastic!!
