Description:

I love this swap idea when I saw the USA version, and @MissWhimsy has kindly given me her permission to host the International version while she is out of action.

Use a sandwich size baggie (or equivalent), and fill it with a minimum of 5 items. Interpretation of Medieval is up to you, but some things this era is known for are: Castles, Knights, Armor/Shields, Family Crests (you could make up one if you’re crafty), Dragons (more fun if I include them I think), Jousting, Draw Bridges, Royal Crown, Princes & Princesses, Medallions, Scrolls, Carriages, Chalices, Tankards, Tapestries, Coins, Archery, Flasks, Potions, stories like King Arthur, Camelot, Excalibur, Merlin, Gwenvyre, Lancelot, Robin Hood.

It is much more fun if you send a variety of items, so please do not send all paper based, maybe no more than three, and hand made is encouraged, of course do your best work and as always send what you would be happy to receive. Some examples of what to send could be: Art Prints, Postcards, books, Charms/Jewelry, Key chains, Jewelry/Curio Boxes, Stickers, Stamps, Magnets, and so on.

For some inspiration, check out one of my favourite artists J W Waterhouse – a lot of his work is Medieval inspired.

As this is a group swap, I am not going to set a rating, but I reserve the right to remove any participant that I feel may be problematic. If you have any current 3 or 1 ratings on your profile that are unaddressed, you will be removed. I do a final check just before assigning partners, and if you have any late swaps on your dash at that point you will also be removed.

There have been a few queries recently as to what is acceptable as a Baggie swap – there is no simple answer to this question. As long as the swap guidelines are met, then it is acceptable, but please remember you are trying to please your partner, and this is a type 3 package swap – if what you are sending is a small, flat envie, then it is probably not enough!

I just wish I knew where to find the stuff I collect this kind of stuff myself but the only time I find it is at Renaissance Fairs and I haven't been to one

And to order it would cost me shipping so that would add... and I know you wouldn't want all handmade items..

I love this idea, I can't commit right now though as I don't have any items and they are hard to find, but I will keep my eye out for them and hope you do another one of this theme in the future. :)
