Description:

Using one playing card that you may have in your stash or even from an old deck you don't use anymore pull out one.

Using a background of something to get the shine off to adhere paint to better, you paint the whole face of card with it, EXCEPT The left upper corner showing the type of card you picked.

THEN with that corner visible paint something appropriate on it. Such as: Queen of hearts - paint hearts or a Queen on it. For a King, crowns on it, if a number card paint that number of items on it. Like if a 2 paint 2 or 3 paint 3 things. Questions? You pick the card.

1 swapper 1 card. These are about the same size of an ATC and sturdy.

You are all great swappers in our group. I do check your ratings under a 5 though. I will contact you if a problem with a 3 recently. If you got a 1 rating I will check to see why!

Thank u to Those 25 who contacted me after getting my message. I want to have different venues of art to keep you interested. So, check back our group from tine to time, we have over 100 in our group and only about 25 join in.

Please remember you are to paint on the face of the card. Not to put paper over it and then paint something. If you have problems with the shiney card face there are things you can do to take the shine down to where your paint will adhere to. You can use light sandpaper to rough it up or adding water to white school glue and using that on it. Anyone with ideas please let us know. The concept of this swap is to see what you can paint on a playing card.

First time doing this one and it was fun to try. I rubbed the card face down with steel wool a bit, painted some gesso to all but the corner, let it dry, then I put designs for the card face with a sharpie and colored those in. Try it!

quick question...is this paint mediums or open media? I've painted APCs (altered playing cards) in the recent past by using rubber cement to mount canvas paper cut to the correct dimensions. I really like painting on canvas paper...so that's how I do it

ok...I just needed to read the swap name! I'll be ok...

I know this swap is closed but I want to ask a question....I have a deck of playing cards that are not laminated...I think they are butterfly brand....can these be used in a swap using altered playing cards, or do you have to start with the laminated (shiny) kind?
