Description:

Part of the fun of snail mailing and pen paling is the creation of the envelopes! I love the process from picking the paper to choosing and decorating with washi to selecting and using the perfect stickers, and I always love to see others' creativity in my incoming mail.

For this swap, you will create three envelopes. However, DO NOT decorate the envelopes. Instead, send a card of washi samples (minimum of 3 different washi tapes, 12" in length) to your partner and a few, loose stickers (minimum of 3 stickers). DO NOT explain which tapes and which stickers correspond with which paper...

Notes: (1) The dimensions of the envelopes are the sender's choice but should not cost more than standard postage to use/mail (2) The themes/supplies are the sender's choice, but take a look at your partner's profile for what they like.

Purpose: We know what our own vision for the final envelope is, but I think it will be fun to see what your partner does with the same supplies.

The second (and completely optional) part is sharing our creativity. Post your finalized envelopes on Instagram with the following: #envymyenvies If you don't have Instagram, simply don't want to decorate right away, or don't want to share, no worries. It's just a fun bonus step :D

This swap requires a rating of no less than 4.98, no 1s or 3s (unless you contact me to explain any recent issues), and newbies are welcome with a well constructed profile.

To summarize what should be sent to your partner: -3 handmade envelopes with NO further decorating (the dimensions are sender's choice, but do take into consideration that certain dimensions cost extra postage to mail). -A card with 3 different washi tape samples, each sample no less than 12" in length -A minimum of 3 stickers

I would love to grow this swap and possibly do it on a monthly basis - it would be a great way to grow our envelope collections. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Can it be deco tape instead of washi tape?

Bhindblueeyes 11/17/2014 #

@farmgurl I don't see why not! I will update the description.

Hi! I don't understand how I can put an 12'' washi tape sample on a card. How can I practically do that? Can the one who gets the card with the tape remove it and use it? Do I use a plastic card for that? Please help me out! @bhindblueeyes

@Katti I use playing cards, and it's never been a problem as far as being able to use the tapes. I've seen others use gift cards as well, but I have a deck of cards that I use, and when that deck is gone, I start another. Hope this helps!
