Little "Classroom" Valentines Swap

Do these valentines need to have an envelope? Most that you buy now do not come with envelopes. Thanks.

No worries, mailjunkie! You're right, nowadays most do not come with envelopes any more, which is sad, that was one of my favorite parts when I was a kid, the surprise of opening them all!

Be careful when you send the little valentines with the extra's, last year I had to pay a lot for extra postage to receive my swaps!

Since I am a newbie, can you tell me how/when I get the Class List?

Do they have to be store bought valentines? I actually make my daughter's valentines for her class on photoshop, she often wants cards with a theme you can't find in a grocery store, like Doctor Who, or Full Metal Alchemist. We come up with cute things that tie into the show or theme to write on them and make them look like the ones you get in the store. Let me know if that's okay and I will join!

Ilene, you will get your list of "classmates" after the signup date has passed. You will get an email saying it is time to start swapping, then just come back to the swap and click on "see the partners you send to."

kimanets, in past years I have said handmade is fine IF store bought is not available. I want to replicate the classroom valentine experience as much as possible but I also know that occasionally you'd get a handmade one so I think this sounds fine. :)

As a retired first/second grade teacher, I have really fond memories of the kids passing out and opening Valentines. I plan to make those little white envelopes if my box of Valentines doesn't have them. I am not sure if I have enough information on my "profile" since I just wrote it as a Newbie. Could you please look at it and let me know if I need to add more information...

Oh I just love these. I can't wait-but will have to. Something to get excited about & look forward to. I'll definitely make a collage of them all to hang up afterward ! I think I did this the year before last. It was a lot of fun.

I found a darling children's picture card as a 4-fold valentine card. It looks great, and I also can send the envelope with it. Does this work for you swap?

This swap brings back good memories loved making the bags at school to put them in. I even kept a few so they are old ones. Can not wait to do this swap.

I have some older Hannah Montanna ones, (when Miley was sweet), and I hesitate to use them up, maybe someday the world will want proof and everyone else threw away their old HM stuff. I also have some High school musical ones. Again same thought = do I get rid of them or save them so my kids can sell my crap off in an estate sale when I die?

I'm excited for this swap! Every year I would make homemade valentines for my employees. I do have some vintage ones that I found in my grandmothers attic, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to let go of those. I could possibly scan them.

@JennaZ . . . I sent you a PM. :o) My items are ready to go today, but there is no Sunday pickup here. I mention this since the deadline listed to send is today (Feb.1). I was wondering if I should click "sent" or wait until tomorrow (day after the deadline) when I know the postman will pick them up.

LittleDonnaGirl: I recently joined 'SwapBot' and while looking through the FAQs, it said that as long as the package is complete, addressed, and in the mailbox - you're considered 'sent', even if it is a holiday or any other day that mail is not picked up. Hope that helps...! : )
