QnT 2015 12 Stars, 2 colors USA

2-4-15 THRU 2-28-15

This month our star block is “Ohio Star” -- one partner

-- one star quilt block each month

-- 2 colors = White and recipient’s choice of one base color. Example: red prints, or blue prints, or green prints, etc.

-- All of the blocks in this series will be beginner level so everyone can participate!

Ohio Star

Note: Keep in mind that the tutorials are for multicolored stars but we will be using white and one other color. HOWEVER, you may use more than one print in recipients color choice in your stars.

Example: You may want to use white as your background for the Ohio Star and two different red prints for the actual star. Perhaps you want to make the 9 patch in the center a red print and a white print and a different red print for the outer spikes of the stars. Use your imagination and have fun with these blocks.

Senders will make one 12 ½” star quilt block for recipients in white and recipients color choice as posted in comments below. (finished star blocks will be 12” when assembled in a project) Each month we will make a different star quilt block for a total of 12 which we can use on individual projects or put together for one quilt.

Doing your neatest work make one 12 ½” block for your partner using white (plain white, or tone-on-tone white) and any shades of the color they choose. If they want blue then use a print fabric that is mostly blue. The blue print you use may include other colors if they are very small and do not take away from the basic color blue. Keep in mind that the tutorials are for multicolored fabrics and we are using two colors.

Senders pick a basic color that would be easy for any partner to find either in their stash or at their favorite fabric shop. Here are the blocks we will be making.

March = Star In A Star

April = Square In A Star

May thru December Stars to be posted soon, I have them picked but not posted!

Come and join us for this fun series of quilt blocks! Links to tutorials will be available each month.

I hope to see you there!

Any of these colors (and I don't mind, even prefer-- if you add a second color with the main+white)

Deep blue like cobalt blue and denim. No pastel blue.

Purples please. Closer to royal purple or saturated purples. No lavender please.

I know the swap says one color but I thought to list 2 so if you don't have one maybe you would have the other one. I would like orange or pink to be my colors Thanks!

I dropped out, the universe is telling me to work on my craft room and focus on finishing UFOs, so I'm going to step away for a little while. Happy Swapping!

I am collecting squares for a scrappy bright color quilt. Bright yellow or green would be great. Thanks!

JUST A REMINDER: HOWEVER, you may use more than one print in recipients color choice in your stars, along with the white.

Would love green, please no pastels

Sagebrushs 02/ 3/2015 #

Blues please.

raesha 02/ 4/2015 #

I would love white and green, or white and blue - I'm starting a quilt for a dear friend that is a Seahawks fanatic! So think bright blues or bright greens.

oops haven't listed a color yet. I'd like blue, not pastel, something between royal and navy.
