Description:

Do have a wonderful ATC collection going? Would you like to DISPLAY YOUR COLLECTION on a coffee table, guest room or take along to a craft event for others to see? Well, if you said yes, then this swap might just be for you! For this USA only swap (sorry, postage could get ugly...) you'll have one partner to create a lovely 3-ring binder for. You do not need to include the empty "baseball" card inserts, just focus your attention on the cover, edge and possibly back of the binder. The binder itself should measure at least 1 inch thick, but use what you have - and not TOO big (max 2 inch.)

Altered, quilted, knitted, decoupaged, painted - any medium you like.

It might be helpful to describe where you'd like to put your book - in the comment section. Do leave room for your partner's self-expression. They should be able to tailor it to you from your profile info.

Hearts to tucking fun things into the package to surprise and delight the recipient - and please be on time. I'll give you a month to work on it. I mean, the kids are back in school by then, right?

Must have at least three swaps with good ratings to participate. I will check ratings when it's time to assign partners, so if you have "issues" please email me asap. Whew! Hope I covered all the important stuff. Comment or emai me with anything I missed or questions or suggestions.

I like this idea. So we really should wait until we get our partners to start, right? I would like to put mine in my family room which is blues, browns, with some red.

Has anyone heard from the coordinator on this? I sent her a message this morning but have not received a reply. It says she logged in today, I wonder why she hasn't assigned partners? I'd like to get started on this before I leave on vacation....

Sorry guys. For some reason I thought the sign up deadline was the 19th, not the 9th. I've extended the deadline for sending to Sept 29th to give everyone that extra week back again. Partners are now assigned and I hope everyone has a good time diving into the project. K

GoingTwinsane 09/30/2008 #

I find it VERY upsetting that the deadline was yesterday yet as of today I am the ONLY one who has sent this swap out...What gives?

SweeTart77 10/ 3/2008 #

I know... it's just that it's such a busy time of year. I've been getting messages from people asking for extensions on so many swaps! Yikes. Even my own is going out a bit later than I'd hoped. Hubby had his appendix out which threw me into a tailspin. Kudos to you GooingTwinsane for keeping up! How do you manage? Anyway, this is supposed to be fun, right? So to cut us all a little autumn slack I have extended the deadline just a bit. Please do try and keep your promise to get these out. I know we're all looking forward to them! Kathleen

The deadline was already extended once before. Adding another nearly 3 weeks isn't fair to the three of us who have sent ours out. There is no reason, other than overcommittment or procrastination, why more time is needed.

This has been a poorly coordinated swap. I have never had an experience like this before and am vey disappointed. Hostesses are held to a higher standard than that.

This was fun until now.

WOW!! No need to get so upset.. This is fun! Right??

The binder I am working on cracked from the type of paint I used my swap buddy know why I am running late.

Robin 10/ 6/2008 #

WOW!! I am so glad I didn't sign up for this swap. No one should ever be late getting out their swaps....unless there is a death in the family. The excuses here are pathetic and shame on you SweeTart77. You are the coordinator.....the coordinator should never be late.

SweeTart77 10/ 8/2008 #

Well, so much for fun. Glad we can all cut each other a break when life gets in the way of crafting.
Guess swap bot isn't for me. Sorry I let you down guys. Hope your ATC's survive.

AliciaAmy 10/10/2008 #

You didn't let us down!! I think this swap was a great ideq thanks for hosting

GoingTwinsane 10/10/2008 #

Woulda been a great idea if everyone followed through with the original terms and those terms didn't keep getting changed to accomodate those who are late.

I know people are upset but life does happen. It is not the end of the world! People have lives besides crafting!

I am late mailing my item out because of a glue issue…

As long as people commutate that with you partner that is your business… If other members of this swap were e-mail the host for a extension then she did the right thing...

No need to be rude to the host!

GoingTwinsane 10/20/2008 #

If you have too many things to do that you don't have time for swaps then you shouldn't sign up for them.

This swap was posted MONTHS ago. The deadline has been extended THREE times. Certainly you can fix a glue "issue" in that amount of time.

It's now 3 days past the THIRD deadline and you still haven't sent your swap, Alicia. And you are in another swap along with me and you haven't sent that one either...another glue issue I suppose.

If changes are going to be made to a swap, the host needs to communicate that with EVERYONE, not just a select few who can't get it together.

Needless to say, I won't be joining any swaps from this host and won't be having some of the participants in any of my swaps.

I would like to apologize for being late. My brother was in ICU with leukemia, unfortunately according to some of you, the fact that he is pulling thru doesn't matter, I should only be late had he died. Thank goodness my partner was more understanding and knew I was going to be late. Oh by the way, my husband has parkinson's disease and we are adjusting to that. But again, he's living with it. Life happens and compassion could be used when someone is late. I do have a life other than swap-bot. Those of you complaining it's obvious that you don't.

Hey everyone. Well, I guess we've all learned something through this process. For me it was bitter-sweet. So many of you sent me kind words and I think most of us "get" what swapping is all about. Fun, friendship, support of our hobby (it IS just a hobby right?) and connection to new people in new and creative ways. I've really enjoyed swapping and have done very well up until now. I did have a set back and for that I am sorry. Mammi: so glad to hear your brother is pulling through and I will keep both he and your husband in my prayers. AliciaAmy: Thanks for your kindness and support. GoingTwinsane: I guess your name is pretty telling... Maybe some anger management would help both you and your (bribed?) friend, Robin. So let's all move on shall we?

I just got my ATC Binder. It is beautiful... mammi53 did a great job. And, for the record SweeTart77, you did a great job organizing it. I hope that you continue to organize cool swaps like this one in the future. :)
