Description:

Thanks @Goodmorningfelicity for the great idea.

As we ring in a new year, many of us have calendar pages to use in some way. In this swap, let's use some of our calendar pages to make envelopes. You will make one larger envelope (like 5x7 or 6x9) that you will mail to your partner, and inside that envelope you will make and send two more smaller envelopes for your partner to use. Please glue or sew your envelopes. You may also art on the envelopes, if you want. In total you will have made at least 3 envelopes.

Does anyone have a good template for squaring up the image. I have Martha Stewart envelope maker and they're made on an angle skewing the image. Does that make sense?

There are so many envelope templates on google...many sizes and shapes. One of those may work. For some reason, I can't link right now. ;)

I have a few templates Ive made in different sizes. I just take apart regular greeting card envies, trace them onto cardboard and cut them out. (Some ive even covered in packing tape to give them smooth edges and make them last) then I just trace around my cardboard template wherever it looks best. Hope this helps :)

Thanks!

I do mine freehand at this point - fold in nearly in half, fold over a flap, open it up and figure out how much to cut in for the sides, cut off a diagonal for the edges. Hard to explain but once you've tried a few with scrap paper you'll get the process down and be able to work from any size paper.

I'm not sure I would be able to eyeball it, I'm one if those people who can't cut a straight line to save my life, but I'll try it this week, thanks.

I made a couple that are good, but don't have a calendar big enough to make a 5x7 envelope. Trying to use these smaller calendars are a challenge! Have fun, I'm going to sit this one out.

Just as an FYI....you can sew or glue, two pages together to make the larger envelope. ;)
