Tea and a notecard ~ NEWBIE FRIENDLY!

Hi lovely people, just a quick question: does "teabags" include herbal teas, infusions and such, or just proper tea (black/green)? Thanks!! :)

Yes @Zorin your profile is a good start of a well filled out profile :)

@HicUpAppleNod teabags include any kind of prewrapped tea, so everything goes - black, green, flavoured, herbal - as long as it is wrapped by the manufacturer, so do not wrap tea yourself, or put loose leaves & infusers in a plastic bag or something like that.

Pre-wrapped & sealed by manufacturer means a teabag covered in a paperbag with the logo of the brand + the name of the tea on it, brand new and sealed by the manufacturer.

I do have a question! The send by date is when it has to be sent by? Not received correct?

Indeed @mkangak send by date is the last date you must send it out - when you receive the swap will depend on where your partner lives, international post can take up to 1-6 weeks, so after you've send the swap, just sit back and wait :)

Looks like fun. I am a fairly new newbie myself and have now participated in a couple of different swaps - in progress. It helps to see what others write into their profiles. I was kicked out "banned" from my very first one (also tea/note related) and that hurt my feelings, as I didn't know what was expected...

My question is about the teas. I've seen some people require that they are in the manufactured pouch, like the Twinnings tea you have shown. What about teas that do not come in a glossy pouch, such as Tetley which comes in a tea bag (it's not loose leaf) but other than the container is comes in, there is nothing on it to tell you of the type of tea. As these types of tea allowed, provided they are labeled?

@littlemoonrabbit12 I know which ones you mean. Unfortunately these are not allowed, as it is still kind of 'unhygienic' - therefore I stated the pre-wrapped/sealed by manufacturer thing. I have never seen a tea-swap were those types of bags were allowed - guess nobody really likes to receive them.

I didn't realise about the different packaged teabags & have sent a tea bag like that but made an envelope to put it in but I will definitely do the right way from now on

Send by date does NOT mean postmarked date. That could be a few days later depending on the postal service in ones area and local holidays.

@Ilene I had other reason for banning you. I had to ban so many from that swap, that I did not send a note with a reason to anyone that was banned.

If you nicely PM me and ask, I have no problem replying.

@Ilene I will always send a note when I ban people from my swaps. That's just the fairest in my opinion, especially towards newbies.

@owlsinathens yes you will get an email when partners are assigned. Click on the link in the email, which will lead you to this swap page again, and up in the yellow box on the right side of the page you'll see a link 'see who I send to' - and that will be your partner :)

Thank you for all of your kind responses to those who asked questions. I know that is much appreciated, especially for Newbies who may not understand the whole process.
