ATC Challenge - "Do Something with This"

Oh how fun this will be! I'm going to start looking for my 6 things now!!!

I just did one of these and got way confusing. Basically we were to send 5 items to the person we were to rate and they were to make a collage out of the things you sent and then send it back.

But everyone thought they were supposed to send their collage items to the 'see the partners you send to' where actually they were supposed to send them to the person they were going to have to rate.

Is this how yours will work? If so, this is a real blast and I'd love to join!

I knew this would get confusing (heck, I'm getting confused, and it's my swap). Once partners are assigned, you have to look at the "see the partners you send to" section. You send a message to that person with your address. That person sends you the 6 things. You make the card out of their things and send it to them. They rate you.

Put another way, you are going to send the person you will rate 6 things, once they send you their address. They will send you a card made out of your things. You will rate them. So, yes, I think it is like your collage swap.

Hope this helps everyone. I'm looking forward to this one. I've got some ideas myself.

I think this is a great swap and though confusing to explain it has been explained very clearly...I'm joining..... i guess it would be better if everyone did not send in their own explanations to the swap as it mite confuse participants further.... and this one is deftly going in the top ten

Thanks for your response Vooddoo;) It is the same I guess, its just I didn't want this to turn out like the last one I was in. Although I understood it, others may not, like last time and seeing it from a different point of view is always good too.

Juls--For future reference this 'discussion' area is made for just that, 'discussions' about the swap. Whether its my opinion, explanation, or a question...this would be were we 'discuss' it. ;)

This would be totally confusing if you hadn't delineated the steps in the swap. If I have a moment of doubt, I'll just look at the instructions again. Hmmmm . . . step one, sign up. That was easy!

how do we rate the person who sends to us?

they make you a card with the stuff you sent them and you rate them based on if they used all of your things or not.

I have a question, do we have to make only one atc? can we make one atc for each item they send? just curious =D

One ATC with all 6 things. part of the challenge is to coordinate 6 random items into something cool.

I was in that collage swap where we sent items to the person who is assigned to send to us. I think the only reason it was confusing is that the hostess didn't 'splain things too well. :) You've done a much better job of it here and it sounds like this will be a lot of fun.

This sounds like fun. I'm a newbie but I have a proven track record on Nervousness.org, I can send you a message with the details. I have to admit, though, I'm still a little confused about how this swap works. My main question is, are the partners exchanging the 6 items and subsequent cards with EACH OTHER, (i.e., Tom sends a card to Mary, Mary sends a card to Tom), or is it a "pay it forward" type of deal where the person at the top of the list makes a card for the person below them, and so on and so forth? (i.e., Tom sends to Mary who sends to Jane who sends to Sam who sends to Tom) Sorry to be annoying, but I just want to make sure I have everything straight.

Still confusing, but will try it out.

hey guys, in light of the fact that I've evacuated Louisiana and am in Little Rock because of Gustav, I've moved the sign up date back until things are more certain.

Hey, I'm going home tomorrow. I'll keep the new signup date, but this swap will happen.

I gather this is not international, just because of the time frame in the to and fro mailings?

it is international...if i have to adjust due dates because the international mailings are causing them to be unfair, I will.

I think after reading all of this I have it straight, I hope. After I get my partners name I message her and give her my address so that she can send me 6 items that she wants me to put on 1 atc, and I make the atc the way I want, incorporating her 6 items on it. Then I mail it to her. Really simple if I am doing it right.

I think I have managed to mess this up already... I didn't realize that the person i was sending to was not the same person that was sending to me... OOPs... Hopefully i got it fixed, and i dont get a bad rating... Silly newbie ;-)

When do we hit the sent button? When we mail our 6 items or when we mail the persons ATC?

you hit send when you mail the ATC.

I'd be glad to know when my partner sends the items. I told my partner when stuff was mailed which at least lets her know the process is continuing.
