Jackie, is there a tutorial or How-To online link that explains this process because I am not following quite what you mean, especially by "rolling the stamp." I dare say I may be a bit dense about this, but it is nothing new for me! :-) Thanks! Peggy

I learned how to do this several years ago at one of my stamp club. I do not have anymore info than that. Sorry Peggy. I will try to explain it differently. You stamp with a light color (I used yellow) then stamp just the outside of the stamp (I used a reddish color). Instead of tapping the ink on the outside edges, you roll the stamp onto the ink using a circle motion.

So the rolling is in inking the stamp the second time and not in stamping onto the image? That's making more sense. I was thinking you meant rolling the stamp onto the paper. I think I have the picture now. In your sample the blue and white is the background paper, not a stamped image? The center flower is the stamped image which you do only once; the first stamping is on other paper to lighten the yellow before rolling the red onto the edges of the stamp and stamping the image I'll actually use on my ATC? Yes the blue & white is the background. I will have more than one flower (I think) for the ATC I will send. You do not have to stamp off on other paper if you do not want to. Some people are afraid of contaminating their ink pad. I stamp off on another paper to lighten the first color if I am using the same color for the outside edge of my stamp. For example - I ink my flower or whatever stamp you use, once with purple ink. Then I stamp it off on another piece of cardstock to lighten the color on the stamp. Then roll the edges of the stamp in the same ink pad. So my flower looks like it has 2 shades of purple.

This technique is a lot easier if you don't use a square acrylic block. I found some round ones that make the rolling technique go much better. Just an FYI.
