what exactly IS an "atc"? I read them on so many swaps, but can't find out what they are? thanks.

grrrrrrrr. I wanted to mail mine out today but found out that I didn't have enough stamps! Tomorrow it is!!

I have a question. Is fine art photography not allowed? Because I sent out some ATCs for this swap that were photographs and just received them back in the mail with a comment "These are just fotos, not ATCs." I took the pictures as part of a year-long photography project and spent not only a good deal of time working on the shooting portion of the project but also in the cropping and editing work.

I thought the only rules for ATCs were that they be 2.5"x3.5" and original art?

I've created some new non-photography ATCs that meet this theme. I'm sorry you didn't like my other work. I wanted to be sure you got a complete set of tree ATCs.

Sally: It is not that I didn't like your fotoz, it is just that two pieces of 2.5 x 3.5 foto paper are not ATCs. They are fotoz. Thank you for honoring that and sending me actual ATCs. Maryellen

I want to make sure the world in general doesn't think I was cheating on this. My photography is being considered by galleries. People at my local swap love the ATCs done just like the ones I sent out for this swap.

The artistic work was done before the photographs were printed. I spent hours shooting outdoors, I worked for a long time at my computer editing the photos to make them as crisp and clear as possible and to get the color balances right. I also took care in cropping them on the computer.

I didn't just run out to my yard and snap a bunch of pictures. I didn't get stuff from the one-hour photo place and randomly cut up ATC-sized pieces. No, there's nothing stamped or painted on them. No, I didn't glue attachments or sew on beads. But the only rules for ATCs are that they are 2.5 x 3.5 and original art. Which is what I sent.

In future, if photography is not allowed, that should be included in the requirements.

I know I'm a bit late in adding comments, but if photography is not allowed in some swaps like this, especially for ATC's it should be put in the description. I, too, use alot of photography and if they are not well recieved I would not sign up for the swap.
