Okay, so here's the skinny ::

Grab an envelope from your kawaii collection that is small enough to be mailed with a 50c stamp..

Fill that envelope with kawaii ::

  • memo sheets
  • sticker flakes
  • partially used sticker sheets
  • new sticker sheets
  • mini letter sets
  • whatever you can fit in there WITHOUT making it cost more than 50c to post..

Who cares if you put in doubles of things ? Who cares if it's not profile specific ? It's just a quick swap for fun - just make sure you send items that are in a nice enough condition to be useful..

Seal it up, address it to your partner and shove it into one of our shiny, red postboxes - no trip to the post office necessary !! :3

Woo~ this has got to my easiest but fun swap yet.

How exciting! Nice work eiko ^_^

lovelygangster 08/23/2008 #

just for everyone's info, according to aussie post's website, anything up to 114 x 162mm, 5mm thick and up to 50g is a small letter (50c)

once you go over 5mm thick or 50g in weight it's a large letter ($1.00)

lovelygangster :: thanks for that :3

this is the coolest idea for a swap. im so IN...i managed to be able to join afterall. and i have a ton of kawaii goodies to share :D

vitaminv 08/29/2008 #

Awesome!! Yes... nice work again Eiko!! xx

eiko 08/30/2008 #

i've gone thru all my spare kawaii and divided them into two piles - things that can fit into a 50c envelope and things that can't chortle :3

giraffeandrabbti 08/30/2008 #

Oh my, me too. I also don't have a set of scales so I'm weighing it up with two packets of Tiny Teddies in one hand and the envelope in the other. T_T

I think I'll smuggle it into Coles and when nobody's looking, throw it onto the scales near the fruit. ^_^

eiko 08/30/2008 #

HAHAHA - tiny teddies should be the international weighing system ! :3

holds envelope up on it's side

It's looking a little fat (>.<')

If mine seriously makes the 50c mark I will be impressed and very happy ;) x

YAY PARTNERS ASSIGNED !!

i can't wait to mail out tomorrow XD

i've seen people who rate a 3 for "breaking" the nominated postage amount rule (ie 42c instead of 39c and stuff)

will we be rated a 3 if we accidentally go up to the $1.00 range??

for me it's the 5mm thing - 5mm is thinner than you think argh

eiko 09/ 1/2008 #

i think it'd be rude to rate low for breaking the postage rule - if we wanna be a tight group with lots of successful swaps then we should cut each other some slack on stuph like that..

i think the main thing is for people not to feel like they haven't sent enough if they get a $1 envie and themselves have only sent a 50c one..

maybe if we run this again we'll make it a $1 swap cos i'm finding it really hard to keep in the 5mm limit too ^-^;

OR we could nominate an australia post toughbag or padded envelope size or something so we have some sort of limitation but a little flexibility with the thickness/postage/contents, yeah ? :3

vitaminv 09/ 1/2008 #

I seriously think I mine is going to be $1.00 :( .. although I don't care if I get a 50c one and I would never rate low if I got more than 50c.. it is a bonus!!

Wow.. 39c is like nothing from 42c!! Poor people!!

For me swapping is really about giving people stuff!! I don't really care if don't get anything in return I just like to make people happy!

No Eiko, I think the 50c swap is a great challenge.. :) but next time a standard post pack could just be a "different" swap not a "better" one :) x

eiko 09/ 1/2008 #

whoops ! i spent so much time trying to get the thickness right i totally forgot to weigh it before i sealed it ! 10g over, so it was $1 postage for me chortle ^-^

vitaminv 09/ 1/2008 #

LOL!!

47grams.. yeah!!

It is kinda amazing how much you can fit in an envelope. :) x

giraffeandrabbti 09/ 2/2008 #

standard postage pack is a great idea :)

i don't think i've made the 50g mark at all ... i suck. eiko -- for some reason i still feel like your envie is skimpy!!! :'( i'm so not used to small envie swaps! T_T

xx

lovelygangster 09/ 2/2008 #

i had the packing of my envelope strategically laid out to by less than 5mm thick on my desk, then when i tried to stuff it all in the envelope my plan didn't work. i think mine will be $1.00 postage as well.

oh well, $1.00 is still pretty cheap when you consider parcels to the US and such cost like frikken $30!!

giraffeandrabbti 09/ 3/2008 #

Mine was $1.00 -- over by 10g! So not good at this at all! Plus he stuck one of those white printouts over the cute birdie on your envie, eiko :'(

lovelygangster 09/ 3/2008 #

eep mine was a dollar too. it was 89g eep! i put heavy stuff in there though. i was so obsessed with it being less than 5mm that when it was over i couldn't even be stuffed to weigh it. haha

Jodiez 09/ 7/2008 #

thanks for the fun swap, i recieved mine and loved it all, i hope my partner is happy too... :D
