RCAS: Favorite Color mixed-media (USA)

One of my favorite themes lately has been monochromatic color ATCs. For this swap, you will create a mixed-media ATC for your partner using the color they choose. When you sign up, be sure to select the color you want with at least two other options in case your partner doesn't have much to work with in your first choice.

Monochromatic means everything on the card is some variation of one color. The only exception is that you can add black and/or white accents, but try to keep this at a minimum.

Mixed-media means a variety of mediums, such as, but not limited to:

• ink (spray, drips, dabbed, drawn, alcohol ink, markers, gel pens...)
• paint (acrylic, watercolor, glaze...)
• collage (book pages, sheet music, ephemera, punched shapes, gelli-prints, interesting magazine or junkmail images, recycled packaging...)
• artist mediums (modeling paste, glass bead gel, crackle media, gesso, gel medium...)
• shimmer (liquid pearls, pearl powders, embossing powders, glimmer mist, twinkling h2o watercolors, glitter-glue like stickles, shiny accent embellishments...)
• grunge (distress ink, stabilo pencils, oil pastels...)
• other (washi tape, thread, yarn, ribbon, buttons, zippers, beads, wire, clay, metal tape, fabric, burlap, jute...)

Things to avoid:

• stickers (except words)
• preprinted/packaged embellishments (like K&Co)
• downloaded images/pictures

Select a few or several ideas from above and create a work of art for your partner. Don't be afraid to try some new techniques! Be sure your ATC is standard size, sturdy enough to withstand the weight of your creation, and well made (no ragged edges, everything adhered well, etc). Put it in a protective sleeve to mail.

Finally, a few general swap notes...

• package securely, you might enclose it in a note card, tape the edges of your envelope
• affix sufficient postage and if it is bulky, label the envelope "nonmachinable" and include extra postage.
• send on time and if there is a chance you will be late, communicate with your partner
• rate promptly upon receipt
• I will angel if necessary
