Description:

I joined a swap to make fairy doors but it was cancelled. I haven't seen another one posted since. If I am stepping on anyone's toes, PLEASE let me know. I did do a search and didn't see anything lately or currently.

I love the idea of having a way for those helpful little creatures to get into my home. These days, I can use all the help I can get keeping my life on track. So, I thought I'd start a swap to create a welcoming door for our little friends.

The guidelines will be faily loose as WHAT a fairy door should look like is a personal thing.

  1. Somewhere between 3 and 6 inches high.
  2. It does not have to open by human hand....fairies have magic, they'll be able to open it if they want to.
  3. Any media is fair game although a flat paper door is not acceptable. Paper is fine but add dimention to it. If you can slide your fairy door under a closed door, it's not embelished enough!

Fairies like pretty things so make your door pleasing to the wee folk. They wont want to open a door that doesn't appeal to them. Do your best to impress the fairies.....maybe they will add a heart to your rating. ;-)

The fine print:

4.8 or better rating.

No 1s/no sends/entries on the flaker list in the last three months.

Newbies are welcome with full profiles.

I reserve the right to ban anyone who hasn't logged in within a couple of days of the sign up deadline. These doors take a lot of time and effort and if you can't do a great job, please don't sign up.

I will angel this swap if I have to but really shouldn't have to, right? I mean, we're all adults and should be able to do the right thing. :-)

There are only two weeks between sign up and send. These doors are not profile dependent so you don't need to wait for partner assignments to start creating.

Feel free to ask if I've left something out or been unclear.
Flickr has tons of examples of the whole spectrum of styles and medias. Have fun with this.

How cool! I love faerie things! You certainly don't mean that it has to be thicker than 2 1/2 inches do you? That's the gap under my doors in our house!

Needlewings.....sorry, I kinda forgot that some doors might not be as snug to the ground as mine. :-) 2 1/2 does seem a bit extreme. Lets just go with, not a flat peice of paper. Thanks for the giggle.
