IS: Hardware store art - INT

One of the coolest classes I ever taught was the Hardware Store Chellenge class where I challenged students to look beyond the ordinary. We took items I purchased at a hardware store, and created mini scrapbook with them. It was always a sell out, and always so much fun!

For this swap take a trip to your local hardware store and browse through the aisles for some inspiration. Collect some items to use then create an ATC, APC, or postcard with them. Mail it in an envelope with an explanation of what you used from the hardware store. Feel free to add in your own creative items such as paper ephemera, paint, etc, but also try to really push yourself to explore the theme and capitalize on the bounty from the hardware store!

What can you find to use? Some ideas...

Flower and vegetable seed packages

Paint chips

Roofing tile, shingle, and tin samples

Metal or mesh Screen for doors, windows, gutters, etc

Foam insulation (make stamps!)

Wallpaper samples

Nuts, bolts, washers, screws, nails

Twine, rope, or chain

Spackle makes great texture paste!

There's soooooo much if you look at things with fresh ideas, and perspective!

So, my challenge is extended....now who's in?
