Description:

I want to change things up a little! Have you heard of the “Exquisite Corpse”? Check out this video It starts with a profile and interview with an artist. You can skip to 3:20 to hear the explanation and example of this only). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bauTo2C7M3Q

We will still divide the card into 4 spaces of your choice. The DIFFERENCE is that YOU will start the card with your own art, whatever it is you do. The 2nd artist will take an element from your work to extend into her area and create another piece of the “corpse.” The 3rd and 4th artists will do the same. Now, depending on how you have divided your card, that will mean that the 3rd & 4th artists will have TWO designs to draw from! I think this will turn out really cool. You can continue a line, a color, or other element from the previous artist(s). You do NOT need to continue in the same style as the other artist. Our “corpse” will vary in that each artist will be able to see the whole thing at all times. (Generally, each artist covers up all but a small piece of their work, but I’m not sure how we could manage that.)

We will transition slowly, so if you already have your P&P ready, just send it along. If you have one that’s already going, you may continue as usual, or try adding your part as in the “exquisite corpse” game.

If you are starting a NEW card, please begin with your own work!

This is a USA swap only. Feel free to host your own international one. What is a Pass and Paste Postcard? Use any stiff paper or cardboard (cereal boxes work great!)- 4x6 - anything over that takes a forever stamp. The "front" of the postcard is divided into 4 sections. Each section is numbered 1 through 4. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOURS LARGER! Please also note that the post office will not deliver anything smaller than 3 1/2” x 5”!

The "back" of the postcard is divided in half, just like a regular postcard. Put your address in the address section so your card will return to you once it's been filled up. Divide the "writing" side into 4 spaces, numbered 1 through 4. Add a postcard stamp to it.

If you have participated in previous swaps: work on the postcard you received previously. IF YOUR PARTNER HAS ALREADY SIGNED THE CARD OR IT IS ONE THAT WAS MADE FOR THEM, THEN CREATE A NEW CARD. (or you can contact me to see if I have any extras).

When partners are posted, you will mail the postcard to your partner in an envelope. This partner will decorate the next section and SEND IT ON in the next round. This swap is held 2 swaps within each month due to the fact that this is so easy. Anyone can jump in at any time too.

You can decorate using any medium, BUT you have to make sure that it is attached well. Zentangle, collage, painting, drawing - Also, you need to make sure that nothing is too big as the last person decorating will be sending this naked and it will have to go through the postal machines. If you glue a button on, it will probably not survive.

Finally, if you decide not to continue on PLEASE contact me and I will be happy to take the postcard you have.

If you know of a bad swapper signed up for this swap, I appreciate being informed, but please DO NOT post to the comment section! Send me a PM and I will deal with it that way

Not signing up for any new swaps. I sprained my L shoulder, and PT will be taking up my art time.

carol 01/30/2017 #

@StarMouse sorry to hear of your injury. Heal fast! You will be missed.

You have this listed as an electronic swap, type #1? Surely this one counts as #3 as there is craft involved.

mjhaertling 01/31/2017 #

Do I understand correctly that the only difference here is to continue with the theme or do a spin-off from part of the image of what is already on the card?

carol 02/ 4/2017 #

@DaisyNY yes! Thanks for catching that. It is definitely a mail swap. It's not been classified as #3 since it is not really that intensive, and is not a package. At least, that's how I view it.

@mhaertling -Yes, that is the only difference. I just thought it would make an intriguing twist.

I changed the name back in case some of you were confused. This is the continuation of the P&P swaps I've been hosting. If you have partially completed cards, please continue them as usual, or give this new spin a try if you like.

Sending home a finished PC tomorrow to Hannah C. Of Rio Nido, CA. I'd pm but I don't know your profile name.
