Description:

Sorry this is being posted late. It's not been a good week health wise.

Hello fellow artists!

I'm always looking for inspiration and techniques to keep my art interesting and fresh. To that end, I've recently purchased a number of books about collage, paper crafting, printmaking, and mixed media, etc.

Two books that I HIGHLY recommend are:

101 Mixed Media Techniques (781600-683557)

101 More Mixed Media Techniques (781633-220539)

Each Tuesday I will introduce a new (to me at least) technique for us to use in our ATC. ATCs for this swap are free themed--you can do what you want--you just need to incorporate that week's technique in the making of your ATC.

I will provide basic instructions. You can Google if you need further clarification.

You will make ONE (1) ATC for one partner. You have two weeks from sign-up to mail your creation.

Of course your work needs to be 3.5 x 2.5 inches, STURDY back, and well done. Thought, creativity, and effort are appreciated. On the back of your ATC please indicate the name of your piece, swap name, your name, and date. While the ATC doesn't HAVE to be in a plastic sleeve, it does need to be protected and well packed. Be sure embellishments are well adhered.

So who's with me?

This week's technique is FOAM STAMP BACKGROUND 3" x 4"

Supplies: Craft foam with adhesive backing, usually found in kiddie section of crafts. Or foam and your adhesive.

Step 1. Paint/prepare the base of your ATC with the color/media of your choice.

Step 2. Make a base for your stamp that is 3x4". Can use corrugated cardboard or anything else with body.

Step 3. Cut shapes/designs from your craft foam and adhere to your base.

Step 4. Stamp your ATC using ink/paint/whatever. One stamp/impression should cover your entire ATC background.

Step 5. Proceed with the making of your ATC.

There you have it!

Have fun.
